Return of Investment (ROI) is always brought up in conversation. As the ONLY Athletic Trainer (AT) working at Bullard HS for 46 days I have provided

• 623 patient interactions (daily avg. of 13.5)
• $3,347.02 in Covid-19 Antigen testing cost savings for 1 team in 1 SESSION! 1/

• $15,690 in healthcare costs and $78,455 to the students and families in indirect costs related to:

1. Students - missing class time to see a doctor.
2. Parents - taking off from work.
3. Athletic Directors - doing medical paperwork associated with athlete injuries. 2/

4. Coaches - assuming secondary roles and providing medical care to an injured athlete
5. School Staff/Teachers - eliminating daily health-care concerns allowing teachers to focus teaching.
6. Doctor’s Office - Paperwork and admin time to document new cases. 3/

7. The Community - eliminates unnecessary visits to the emergency room.

I am on pace to provide a yearly cost savings of $77,770 in healthcare costs, $388,840 in indirect costs, for a total of $466,610 cost savings as the SOLE sports medicine provider at Bullard. 4/

Even with the AT stereotype of "only taping and icing" (which is only 16% & 17% of all treatments provided) I split myself up and provide care for 30 sports and 750+ athletes. AT provide institutions so much ROI and should be employed by organizations with athletic activities! 5/
