Sancho Vs Newcastle! (Thread)

- The ball is played into midfield - Sancho sprints outwide
- This draws the right back to shift right
- Leaving space for CR7 to drive in to
- The RB then tries to get back across, but it's too late.

Sancho's IQ helped create this goal!

Sancho - Decision making!

Look at the quick feet Sancho displays when being closed down, leaving the defender on the floor. Sancho is surrounded by 4 men, it would be nonsensical to attack them and cross it in when there is no one in the box. Plays it to CR7 - leads to shot.

Sancho - Decision making!

Sancho thrives off movement. Again he displays his intelligence and breaks the line into Bissaka. Remember there was little room vs Newcastle. Sancho draws players in and then plays it into space.

Simple but effective!

Sancho - Decision making + composure

Sancho sees the picture. He likes to combine with his fullback. He drives forward and slips it behind their defence. Shaw does poorly by not finding our forwards, another day Shaw finds someone and it's a goal and Sancho would get more credit.

Sancho - Picking up pockets

Sancho asks for the ball, makes a second run and still doesn't receive it. If Maguire doesn't play it safe and does play it into Sancho then we're on the attack in a promising position.

See the intelligence - It'll come together with familiarity!

''Sancho wasn't direct''

Sancho was direct when the opportunity was there. Here he beats his man and finds a team mate. Some fans wanted him to beat 2 or 3 men. That's not his game, especially vs a low block Newcastle who sat very deep and doubled up on him.

Correct decisions!

Sancho - Can do better here

As the image explains his first touch should be forward so he's in control of the situation. However that's football, not every situation and touch will be perfect. He still manipulates the ball and gets a shot away!

Overall opinion

Some fans wanted him to be overly direct with no context. He made the right decision numerously. CR7 X Mason X Bruno were direct. Sancho allowed for ball retention in the final third. This was important, didn't allow cheap counters. He's growing- He'll be fine.

General opinion away from Newcastle game

He's a very good player with high intelligence. His movement is fantastic as well as his general play on the ball such as close control. He still needs an adjustment period and once teammates get use to him and month or so time he'll fire
