Ping if you remember one of the best submarines ever, because it could fly.

Mind you, there was also the Reid Flying Submarine RFS-1.

And the Soviet Union’s Ushakov LPL Flying Submarine Concept (1934). The flying submarine concept has a fascinating history and I recommend this rabbit-hole for your exploration pleasure.

Of course submarines are just a kind of watery airship and they yearn to return to the skies.
