So I have to hire a car for 4 days in late October, in Strasbourg ๐Ÿ‡ซ๐Ÿ‡ท (or somewhere close) ๐Ÿคฏ

Long story, and don't shoot me, rail and bike nerds ๐Ÿ˜ฒ

But how about an โšก๏ธ car?

But trying to *work this out* has been a headache... Summary in the ๐Ÿงต

First of all, who even rents โšก๏ธ cars?

The sort of car hire meta searches like @check24de @KAYAK @holidayautos don't even let you filter by that

So what about the firms?

@SixtDE rents electric cars, but at Strasbourg Airport (but I am arriving by train!)

It offers me a Peugeot E-208, that costs me โ‚ฌ5 more a day than a petrol one. And I have no details here where to charge it - Sixt how does this work?

In terms of info available Europcar does better - it explains how the charging works...

... but they only offer massive cars, above my price range. How about a compact electric car?

Or even a Twitter account for ๐Ÿ‡ซ๐Ÿ‡ท ๐Ÿ‡ฉ๐Ÿ‡ช?

Oh and no โšก๏ธ๐Ÿš— in Strasbourg, only in Freiburg (Brsg) ๐Ÿ‡ฉ๐Ÿ‡ช

Then @Avis doesn't have electric cars in Strasbourg

While @Hertz when I search for green options... gives me a petrol Renault in Strasbourg! ๐Ÿค”

Digging around a bit further I found the Strasbourg branch of @LeasysRentFr that does rent โšก๏ธ๐Ÿš—, even for a few days, at a decent price - and they provide a charging kit, but what about public loading stations? How does that work?

Might be of interest to @Transport_EU @transenv who want to electrify cars ASAP

And if any of my followers could shed light on how to do this I'd be really grateful. @SorenHave do you know anyone who could help?

Maybe I am just dim not being able to get my head around this, given I don't own a car so have never had to ask myself these questions about a vehicle of my own either.

But if I can't answer these questions I presume others struggle to answer them too?
