NEW -- Donald Trump tried to overthrow American democracy.

But 112 businesses and nearly three dozen people have taken $21 million from him anyway -- AFTER Jan. 6 -- to help him spread his lies about the election.

HuffPost reached out to dozens of those on these lists to ask why they were taking Trump's money despite what he did and what he continues to do to undermine democracy.

Not one responded on the record -- with a single exception: Trump's new spokesperson, Liz Harrington.

AEI's Norm Ornstein, who has been warning of the authoritarian drift in the GOP for years, says this about those taking Trump's money now:
