The press secretary is tossing out ad hominem attacks, hoping to discredit me and HuffPost.
So here is some actual context: I’ve been doing this professionally for a dozen years before she was even born. My first job out of college was at the Middletown Times Herald Record in upstate New York. As a young reporter, you are assigned to work Saturdays, and it was your job to scrounge up a story to fill the hole for “live” news.

The United States military has now killed 14 people in international waters in the SE Caribbean in the past two weeks on extremely vague assertions that they were transporting drugs to the U.S.

HuffPost sent the following questions to DoD: 1) What ports did the boats leave from?
2) What were their next destinations?
3) What were their locations at the time of the attacks?
4) Which US vessels and aircraft were involved in the strikes?

Some years ago I needed a spare paddle for my self-steering gear. I was in Spain, but was on my way to Gibraltar so had it shipped to the marina I was going to tie up in. Checked the mail coming in to the office daily, and one morning there was a notice for me to come collect my package at Her Majesty's Customs.

If Trump is elected, why do people believe he will ever leave?

This time he goes in having learned his lessons from Jan 6 — that he needs to fill the top military and nat sec positions with people personally loyal to him from the start, not just in the final weeks. Reminder that if Trump wins, there is a 99 pct chance he will have a GOP run Senate.

If America allows a person who attempted a violent coup on the ballot in contravention of the U.S. Constitution mainly because he and his followers are threatening to burn it all down, it seems like we’ve already given up on the rule of law and democracy. This argument can be applied to pretty much every measure of accountability against Trump.

Can’t impeach him. His followers won’t accept it.

Can’t serve a search warrant. His followers won’t accept it.
