[Thread] Signs are pointing towards Belarus 🇧🇾 being the number 1 target of Western regime change activities right now.

My new investigation for @MintPressNews.

Last month, at the UN, Joe Biden put Belarus number one on the list of states in desperate need of regime change.

“We are committed to support the long-suppressed democratic aspirations of the people of Belarus and we stand together to impose costs on the regime for its blatant disregard of international commitments,” the Biden administration wrote, as they announced new sanctions.

The Biden administration has already essentially crowned opposition politician Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya as the new leader of Belarus.

The problem is that she lacks public support. A NATO-funded survey found that only 4% of 🇧🇾 want her to be president.

In this sense, Tsikhanouskaya appears to be a Belarusian Juan Guaidó; lacking a domestic support base but backed by Washington.

Tsikhanouskaya describes Guaidó as "inspiring." Meanwhile, Guaidó fans in Miami fly the Belarusian opposition's flag in solidarity at their demos.

Also worrying is that she sees "parralels" between what she wants to do and the Maidan Revolution in Ukraine, an event which brought the far-right to power there and tripped off a major war scare.

Also on Ukraine, Roman Protasevich, the journalist Belarus downed an plane to arrest, was a member of the Neo-Nazi Azov Battalion, a group who did the heavy lifting during Maidan.

Completely unreported was that he was arrested right after meeting with Tsikhanouskaya in Greece.

CIA cutout organization, the NED, is currently overseeing 40 separate projects in Belarus.

These mostly revolve around training pro-US activists, funding anti-government media and bankrolling election monitoring organizations.
