68/ here's a screengrab of police analyst supposedly pointing out comment at Climate Audit which contained the original link to the Climategate zipfile. Take a look, especially old-time blog readers.
69/ next, the analyst points to a picture of not-me and a woman who is not-my-wife and says, This is Steve McIntyre. The picture in my Twitter avatar (which is 16 years old now) also shows me in front of a tree.
70/ back to the screengrab of Climate Audit. It contains multiple forgeries and/or emulations, some of which say something about programmers. Some are poetic licence, some though are insulting. I'll distinguish. The header is similar to CA header, but deleted "by Steve McIntyre"
71/ when I go to Climate Audit, the head post comes up and one has to scroll down to comments. In their screengrab, the comments follow the header. They don't show and appear to have removed right sidebar showing New Statesman 50 People Who Mattered 2010 web.archive.org/web/2021082315…
72/ The left sidebar mostly copies the actual sidebar: they leave out the Tip Jar and truncate my name from Contact Steve Mc.
Don't worry that these are tiny: it gets more fun, but I like to begin at beginning.
73/ they mostly replicate articles but substitute some imaginary article for McIntyre/McKitrick 2003. They left MM05(GRL), not being aware, I guess, that this was a McMc article. Their blogroll is fictitious.
74/ now for the interesting bit: look at the comments themselves. I've highlighted the "A miracle has happened". They've redacted the names of the commenters to make it appear like this is a grab of the real page. But it's entirely forged and fabricated.
75/ here's a deception. The Trick shows url in comment to http://eastangliaemails[.]com. There was no hyperlink in body of original comment (which is why no one noticed) only underneath RC which actually went to www.realclimate[.]org/FOIA.zip - off-message to narrative.
76/ the screenshot purporting to show the comment page containing the "A miracle has happened" link was also fabricated.
77/ in June 2018, CA contributor RomanM climateaudit.org/2008/06/18/ear… published article sneering at CBS story claiming destructive ability of earthquakes increas[ing] alarmingly fast .. unless problem of global warming urgently addressed…global seismic activity increasing" h/t @TvOat
78/ RomanM's article continued with further lengthy quotes from the risible article that CBS News had credulously publicized as further global warming scare-the-masses
79/ @RyanMaue, an extremely able meteorologist, pointed out in a comment that this nonsense had been top Science article at both CBS and MSNBC and originated from AP climateaudit.org/2008/06/18/ear…
80/ In comment #4, Bill Drissel linked to webpage johnstonsarchive.net/other/quake1.h…
which showed "Relative annual energy release from earthquakes, magnitude 6 or greater, 1900-2008", noting that, "acc[ording] to this graph we’re below the 1900-1920 level".
81/ 1st comment in Trick screengrab begins "Ok Bill #4" as does comment #5 to blog. But Trick replaced Jim Arndt comment on TSI and gravitational pulls with fabrication that "concept of global warming was developed by powerful nations to halt the progress of developing nations"
82/ next Trick comment is also forged: "snow in winter? The world is upside down" with inline response "ryanm... Matt spiked the story to the trashcan..."
Real comment # 6: "it’s on Drudge Report too ...How long before our various elected officials start quoting this paper?"
83/ other 4 comments in Trick screengrab from same thread sneering at CBS nonsense. They deleted my comment "Another Jor-El wannabe" (harking back to previous controversy with James Hansen), replacing it with their forgery of "RC" comment that linked to realclimate[.]org/FOIZ.zip
84/ term "Jor-El wannabe" would be familiar to ClimateAudit readers from 2007 blog in which Hansen fulminated about "Destruction of Creation" while backhandedly conceding that GISS demotion of 1934 as warmest year arose from computer error that I spotted climateaudit.org/2007/08/20/com…
85/ in Hansen's Jor-El wannabe diatribe, he refused to cite my identification of the GISS error, later saying that refusal of credit was intentional, not accidental. I chaffed him in Say My Name post climateaudit.org/2008/09/22/say… citing Knowles 2007, Mathers et al and Jones et al 1996
