I don’t often post videos of myself playing but given I dropped a 15 save MotM performance for @oldthorntonians last weekend I thought it would be interesting to post my favourite 4 & run a poll to see which save people think is the best!

(See thread below for videos)

Save A:

I particularly enjoyed my pulsing feet & constant little readjustments pre save & use of the collapse dive to make this save. I also enjoyed how I manipulated the ball & guided it out for a corner rather than putting it back into danger.

Save B:

I was poorly positioned initially but quick footwork & use of the cross over step allowed me to get across & make the save.

Additionally I was very happy with the fact I got my top hand across as without it I don’t think I would’ve got it into the bar.

Save C:

I was very happy with both my footwork here & the fact I changed my gaze after the cross occurred to make sure I saw the header all the way & maximised my reaction time.

In the end the actual mechanics of the save wasn’t too hard given my positioning & body shape.

Save D:

You can’t be a 1v1 save

Initially long range, I backed off into my 6 yrd box to nullify the first time shot & possibility of being rounded. Then once he took it closer to goal I rushed out & formed a premeditated block barrier which meant I got a strong foot on the ball

Feel free to comment your thoughts as well as vote if you have any questions or anything to add to my descriptions of the saves!

Hahaha clearly after all my posts on optimum 1v1 techniques you guys have really started to appreciate 1v1 saves!

Now I feel I should’ve probably included my other 2 1v1 saves from the game in the vote but I felt at the time a variety of save types was probably more interesting!
