Our country is a repository of spirituality blended with humanness. God is celebrated as part of us. There is a temple situated in #Thiruvarppu in Kottayam Kerala which is at least 1500 years old. Lord Krishna here is said to be always hungry. So all the 23.58 hours, 365 days the

temple is open. The temple is closed for only 2 minutes, from 11.58 pm to 12.00 am. Unlike other temples the priest here is given an Axe along with the key to reopen the door in the early hours (after closing for minutes). Since Krishna cannot tolerate hunger, if there is any

delay in opening the door with the key, the priest is permitted to break open the latch with an axe. It is believed that Lord Krishna's idol in the Temple is very exhausted Krishna after killing Kamsa. So after the Abhishekam is over first the lord's head is dried, the naivedyam

offered to him and only then his body is dried. During the period of a day 10 times Naivedhyam I’d done to Swami. Even during Eclipse the Temple is not closed. Once the temple was closed during eclipse. When they reopened the door they found that the waist belt of the lord had

slipped down. Sri Adi Shankaracharya who came there at that time said that it was because God Krishna became very hungry. From then on they stopped closing the during Eclipse. God Krishna's Sleeping time is daily 11.58 pm to 12.00 am. Only 2 minutes. No devotee is allowed to

leave without eating the Prasadam. Everyday 11.57 pm (before closing the temple) the priest calls out loudly IS THERE ANYBODY HERE WHO IS HUNGRY? This is to ensure all the devotees have partaken in Prasadam. Another important aspect of this temple is, once you taste the

Prasadam, you will not go hungry, in your life time you will not have any problem for food. Lord Krishna is taking care of all devotees who pray here and take prasadam.
The Temple's address is, Tiruvarppu Krishna Temple, Tiruvarppu-686020
Temple time is 12.00 am to 11.58 pm.

Sarvam Sri Krishnarppanam🙏🏻
