North Carolina's special session on redistricting continues and we've got report cards out for the latest iterations of the state house and state senate maps, as well as a reminder of our report cards for the Congressional map.

First, the State House map, HSA-9, also known as HB 976.

It gets an F overall and in Partisan Fairness, a C in Competitiveness and a B in Geography.

It would elect 70R-50D and has 17 competitive seats.

It has 12 districts with a BVAP over 40%, 1 with an AVAP over 35%, and one with an NVAP over 40% (NC-47, around Lumberton).

Next, the State Senate map, SBK-7, also known as SB 739. It too gets an F overall and in Partisan Fairness, with a C in Competitiveness and a B in Geography.

We'd expect it to elect 30R-20D, with 7 competitive seats.

It has 4 districts with a BVAP over 40%, and one district with an AVAP and one district with an NVAP near 30%.

Finally, report cards for the Congressional proposals.

Map CST-13 aka HB 977/SB 740: gerrymander.princeton.edu/redistricting-…
Map CST-8 aka SB 738: gerrymander.princeton.edu/redistricting-…

CST-13 is the Republican map, and also got Fs Overall and in Partisan Fairness, with Cs in Competitiveness and Geography.

We're watching this process closely and will update our scores once final maps are passed.
