Have you ever heard of Operation Northwood? It was a false flag operation concocted by the #US Joint Chiefs of Staff in March 1962, after the Chief of Operations of the ‘Cuba Project’, asked them for pretexts to justify #US military intervention in #Cuba. tinyurl.com/2mecvjp7

This document tinyurl.com/2mecvjp7 proposes shocking acts of terrorism to be carried out by #CIA and other US agencies against US military and civilian targets, and Cubans, to be blamed on the Cuban government.

“World opinion, and the #UnitedNations forum should be favorably affected by developing the international image of the #Cuban government as rash and irresponsible, and as an alarming and unpredictable threat to the peace of the Western hemisphere.” tinyurl.com/2mecvjp7

2nd suggestion lists possible provocations, terrorism & sabotage around & inside #US Naval Base at #Guantanamo Bay. 3rd says: "A 'Remember the Maine' incident could be arranged", including blowing up ships and drones - blaming the Cuban government. tinyurl.com/2mecvjp7

Proposal 4 is “a Cuban communist terror campaign in Miami area...even in Washington.” #7 hijacking attempts against civil air & surface craft; #8 incident implying a Cuban aircraft attacked & shot down a civil airliner enroute from #US to a nearby country. tinyurl.com/2mecvjp7

President Kennedy rejected Operation Northwood, it was less than 1 year since Bay of Pigs/Playa Giron. Another President might have given the green light. Worth remembering when you hear calls for a #US ‘humanitarian, military intervention’ in #Cuba today tinyurl.com/2mecvjp7
