🇪🇺 Poland could be the worst country to be #LGBT+ in the EU, according to @ILGAEurope’s Rainbow Map.
🇵🇱 The country doesn’t allow:
💍 Same-sex marriage
👨👨👧 Adoption
🆔 Non-binary gender recognition
🪖 Trans people to serve in the military
👬 However, homosexuality is legal.
🩸 Gay and bisexual men can also donate blood.
💼 Employment discrimination based on sexual orientation is banned.
🛑 More than 100 Polish municipalities & regions have declared themselves “LGBT-ideology free zones” since 2019.
💸 This prompted the EU to threaten to hold back funds from these areas.
✂️ Some European towns also voted to cut their twinning ties.

🗣 Last week, Polish MPs debated new legislation called “Stop LGBT".
❌ It would ban Pride parades and other public gatherings deemed to “promote” same-sex relationships.

✈️ More young Polish #LGBT+ people are fleeing the country for more queer-friendly cities.

🌈 The EU launched its first-ever strategy to protect LGBT+ rights in 2020.
