I have this sinking feeling that we're in the denial phase of a pandemic 2.0...⁣

And I think that's what the #Omicron is. It's a 2.0 pandemic virus, potentially. ⁣

It's SO much more transmissible than anything we had before.

2) I think there's a lot of like misinformation on the severity because Delta first of all was much more severe than the original Wuhan strain…. So even if it's not as severe as Delta it could cause an enormous amount of havoc if it's milder quote unquote like the Wuhan strain.

3) And you know, hospitalizations right now clearly or sharply on the rise, there's no doubt that hospitalizations are going up and oftentimes deaths really accumulate when hospitalizations get overloaded, hospitals get overloaded. conversationsix.com/p/nxxpxae6LnMy…

4) And I think this, I think what people don't realize is, you know, you have two viruses hypothetically: more contagious and not severe.

Another virus is more severe, less or not contagious.

5) Which is ultimately going to kill more people? Most people think Oh the more severe virus, but the exponential math tells us it's the more contagious virus that's not as severe as the other one, that's the one, once you run up, the numbers of infected.

6) And I think people are just like too blasé, too laid back about Omicron. Like some people are like, we're not, but so many people are, and we know it's so much more transmission advantage, whether it's natural transmission or evasiveness against immunity.

7) It's pretty clear that there's a lot of breakthrough against both natural as well as vaccine potentially, like I've seen some of the early data and it's not good.

8) And the latest signals are pretty worrisome right now. Boston wastewater early signals at an all time high already. Wastewater almost always precedes surges.
