The daughter of photographer Lyonel Feininger & his first wife Clara Fürst, she had her own Berlin portrait photography studio in the 20s & 30s.

I made a mistake at the top of this thread on Lore Feininger. Her father Lyonel wasn't a photographer, but a painter. He did have three photographer children, though: Lore & her half-brothers T. Lux & Andreas. Here's Andreas's portrait of his dad, from 1928.

Lyonel *was* a photographer. Here's his shot of his 2nd wife Julia Berg with Andreas, T. Lux & Laurence (who became a musicologist), who all moved to America in the 30s. Lore & her mother stayed in Berlin & her mother was murdered in Auschwitz. Lore's studio was destroyed.
