Imagine breaking your big toe. And having to wait 20 hours to get help in the ER.
Welcome to #CoVidBurnThrough in Pennsylvania.
The story there?
Same as it is nation-wide. Staffing shortages...and for the same reasons, probably, too.
Lost 18% of HCW's due to quitting last year.
12% more laid off.

31% of those still working, are thinking of leaving.
66% of acute and critical care nurses thinking of leaving.
Why?
If you were treated like this by your boss?
Keeping in mind that 12% of staff were laid off by the administrators?
Knowing how they gave the nurses gratitude journals as thank you's?
Meanwhile, @MonicaGandhi9 and @MartyMakary call for hospitalizations to be the metric.
I wonder how those Pennsylvania HCW's or those on the actual front-line feel about that call?
One last thought. When you went into the ER?
They made you take off your N95, and put on a surgical mask.
Just like everyone else.
20 hours.
