[#StoriesWeLiveBy - Session 3]
(1/10) It's the moments of experience that shape our stories! "Afghanistan & the Regional Chessboard:
From 9/11 to IEA Rise to Power', it's a tale of moments, narrated by H. E. Amb Mansoor in a storytelling session hosted by Mr. Salman Javed
(2/10) "After 50 yrs, a truly domestically indigenous system came in Afg; interim Govt with control on entire Afg territory. Whatever system Afghans want to evolve for them, it's their right. Pak will continue facilitating them; policy is to support without interference"— Mr Amb
(3/10) "I would say, it's not the last 20-yrs, it's the last 50-yrs that provide a lens to have a comprehensive view of today's Afg in the regional context... The inclusivity we talk about for Afg, it was there in 1970's moderate, peaceful & coexistent society"— @ambmansoorkhan
(4/10) "Soviet invasion, civil war, US-NATO intervention under @UN...during this time, esp the last 20-yrs, none tried for ingenuous inclusivity in Afg... Even when after 2001, there's an opportunity for that & being the part of those meetings, I know, Pak emphasized repeatedly".
(5/10) "This is a fact" stated H.E. "foreign occupation isn't a solution to domestic issues & we've seen now, foreign intervention couldn't bring inclusivity & pol stability; Afg economy also couldn't sustain... When US presence ended, 75-80% Afg budget was foreign aid-dependent"
(6/10) He further added, "during last 20 years, the societal divide became more evident — co-existence of the 70s & the pre-70s was absent & is still absent ... 15th Aug change; strategic experts weren't anticipating it to happen like this".
(7/10) .@PakinAfg role is pivotal; post 15 Aug, many orgs, such as @WorldBank #IMF & media orgs relocated to Pak. Even now, ppl working for humanitarian assistance - @UN & other institutions are channeling relief goods through Pak — H. E. @ambmansoorkhan
(8/10) Commenting on girls' #education, H. E. stated, "IEA Govt has started girls' education in the higher schools of 12 provinces. After the winter break, when schools will reopen in Feb, it is expected that all 34 provinces will resume schools for girls".
(9/10) 5000+ Afghans, educated in Pak are working in 🇦🇫 public & private sector
🇵🇰PM H.E. @ImranKhanPTI annually grants 1000 scholarships (1500 by 2022) to Afghans
In addition to peace & stability, trade & knowledge corridor expansion with Afg is Pak's utmost priority
(10/10) @GovtofPakistan policy is to engage Afg & intl community for
1️⃣ Humanitarian purpose
2️⃣ Economic stability
Also, to address 3 issues that have consistently been the part of dialogs
1️⃣ Inclusivity
2️⃣ Human Rights; women rights & participation
3️⃣ Counter-terrorism
