#GwadarProtests An Indication Of Resentment Against Chinese 🇨🇳 Policies |

Recently we saw Baloch people held massive protests against China in #Gwadar

According to IFFRAS, the protests were an indication of resentment against Chinese predatory policies in South Asia

IFFRAS is a Canada-based think tank dedicated to improving human rights and security. It says that similar agitations can break out in places like Sri Lanka, Maldives, and Myanmar

#China started mega investment plan in Gwadar in 2016 through its CPEC project. Gwadar port is a crucial lifeline for Balochi fishermen highly depend on this port for their livelihoods

But Pakistan which is currently suffering economic downturn has given this port to China on lease. Now lives of Gwadar fishermen are being ruined by Chinese trawler mafias

Xi-Jinping led country needs 18 million tonnes more seafood to fulfill its domestic demands and much of this demand can be fulfilled by expanding its fishing operations in distant waters

Gwadar residents during their protest demanded action against the Chinese trawler mafias by Pakistan and provincial governments

When international media highlighted these issues of unregulated Chinese investment in Gwadar. Chinese Foreign Ministry issued a statement castigating these media reports as fake news
