1. I am featured in @NBCNewsNow today for my #NFT art protesting Beijing Olympics.
However my criticism is clearly downplayed and heavily edited into pieces.
This thread will explore how it is problematic and why NBC did it.
2/ This interview has 2 important elements：
A：How Chinese government enforce censorship & threat to me/ my family just for being an artist.
B：my #NFT project of 5 olympic protest design
censorship is the reason for me to choose NFT
but the clip completely removed part A.
3/ the remove of part A：ccp censorship， spared Beijing‘s aggression towards to free speech
as for part B
I explained all 5 designs which shows 5 human rights abuse in China：Uyghur， HK，Tibet， digital surveillance & covid censorship
But only one is properly shown & discussed
4. the other works are either displayed small or heavily edited without my permission.
the screenshot show the editing.
Its clearly hiding the part of the abuser which is Chinese government.
please compare it with original work.
5/ I allow NBC to use my art but not in a way of editing or only showing part of them.
It twisted meaning of my art and misleading the audience.
6/ NBC also platformed a lot Chinese government and IOC‘s propaganda to “balance the view”
Like beijing’s deny of Uyghur‘s genocide and IOC’s deny of Olympic app security issues.
As the great @aiww just commented：they always have the last word.
7/ I strongly encourage you to just listen to the audio of the clip.
Almost every sentence of mine is incomplete. it shows the trace of heavy editing.
they are like being chopped and put together again.
