1] Been taking time, like most citizens, to encourage fellow citizens to #RegisterToVote2023 as well as encouraging that citizens check their registration status.

Have realised a few challenges being encountered to this regards, as well as some information gap.

a thread.....

2] #WhenDoIregisterToVote

Voter registration is a all year round exercise. ZEC ordinarily has some 63 District offices & 10 Provincial officers allover the country, where one can register to vote.

Baring challenges affecting ZEC, registration itself is a continous exercise.

3] #WhatIsTheBlitzRegistration

This exercise has ZEC introducing "mobile registration" campaigns, meaning that registration centers are brought closer to our homes to compliment their Provincial & District offices.

It's important that all eligible voters take advantage of this.

4] #WhenIsTheMobileRegistration?

The ZEC mobile registration will run in 2 phases in all 210 nationwide constituencies

•Phase 1 is running from 1-28th Feb
•Phase 2 will run from 11-30 April

During both, these centers will be running for about 3 days at a particular center.

5] #WhereAreTheMobileCenters

Check the following

•Visit ZEC centers, their website & social media pages
•Also check @ProjectVote263, @citezw, @EkhayaVote2023 @ercafrica among other CSO pages
•Also check the 4 main daily newspapers
•Citizens can also check @CCCZimbabwe page

6] #WhereAmIAllowedToRegister

Our electoral laws allow for one to register to vote, wherever they currently are

No need to "go back home" to register. Wherever you are, register & choose your ward & constituency.

For those visiting, or at school, find nearest center & register

7] #WhatDoINeedToRegister

A registrant has to:
•be a Zimbabwean citizen
•be 18 years & above
•posses a national ID (plastic or metal); valid passport
•have proof of residence (utility bill hospital card, credit card, affidavit, etc)

check info 👇

8] #HowManyTimesDoIRegister

Those who only registered before 2018 need to register afresh.
Those who voted in 2018 only need to verify their registration.

Visit any ZEC District/Province/mobile center to verify.

Verification can also be done online 👇

9] #WhyVerify

Dont risk finding your name/information missing when it's time to vote.

Take time to verify your registration.

For those without data, get help:

•engage @ercafrica: text "voters roll" to 0787850268 (WhatsApp) or call 08080219

•Call @citezw on 0787139460

10] #WhyRegisterNow

ZEC will embark on a delimitation exercise, to realign the VR, with the constitutional requirement of 210 constituencies with equal registered voters.

There's a risk of loosing some constituencies with low registered voters, & this may impact urban areas.

11] #HowDoIContribute

•the blitz registration needs publicity. Find verified info & share with peers/family
•mobilize first time voters & ensure they vote
•verify personal registration status & that of your peers/family
•assist with resources

to be continued....

enkosi!!
