1] Dr. Magaisa:

"After a nervy period of unsureness & deliberation, the political midwives eventually attended to the arrival of the CCC on the 24th of Jan 2022. That date earned a place in the history of party politics in Zimbabwe when MDC-A underwent a metamorphosis into CCC"

2] Dr Magaisa:

"Those who live through moments of history do not usually grasp their significance. It's those who look back and therefore have the advantage of hindsight, who can appreciate the weight of such moments."

3] Dr Magaisa

"It was like that hard moment of a farmer realising that although he loves his animal so much, the best option because it is broken beyond healing, is to put it to sleep. That way he spares it the excruciating pain and himself, the agony of watching it suffer."

4] Dr Magaisa:

"It was time for the MDC to be put out of its misery. The sight of it being mutilated and misused by men and women who obsequiously succumbed to ZanuPF was painful."

5] Dr Magaisa:

"The moment a wildebeest calf is born during the Great Migration in the Serengeti, it must learn quickly to both walk & run. It's a cruel & unforgiving world filled with predators with a voracious appetite, always eyeing the weakest members of the herd"

6] Dr Magaisa:

"(In the wild) there's neither charity no pity. It is into this tough world that the CCC has arrived, one in which hungry political predators lurked, ready to pounce at the slightest sign of error, weakness or opportunity. The CCC has had to hit the ground running."

7] Dr Magaisa:

"The MDC brand had become toxic that retaining it was just unproductive stubbornness. Had become a source of confusion & conflicts. But as always, change is a hard proposition...It required a big mental leap to let go of a brand tt had become part of their lives."

8] Dr Magaisa:

"It took a lot of persuasion to accept that there was a great opportunity to build afresh, drawing an entirely new generation that has fewer attachments to the old. This new generation, which is the future is not burdened by commitment bias."

9] Dr Magaisa:

"1 day when historians look back into events of this period, they might find this has also been a time of generational disjuncture. A closer looks reveals that many of those around DM is the older generation of the MDC, some of them gallant fighters of the past."

10] Dr Magaisa:

"..the approach of DM hasn't been to fight the regime, but to seek accommodation. The younger generation on the other hand, many born just before or after MDC, gravitate towards Chamisa & CCC. The older generation is retiring, while the new is up for a fight."

11] Dr Magaisa:

"Solomonic wisdom dictated that it was better to let the aggressors have the baby than fight to have it cut in half. Unfortunately in this case, there was no King Solomon to deliver judgement. That judgement lies in the hands of the citizens..."

12] Dr Magaisa:

"The prognosis is that the baby is destined for a future of political malnutrition and probable expiration in the hands of Mwonzora and his allies. After all, it is Chamisa and his allies who appear to have the most important asset in politics: the people."

13] Dr Magaisa:

"Chamisa and allies may have given up the name, but they gained the favour of the people.... It's not too early for scribes to start writing the political obituary of MDC...It is Mwonzora who'll carry the dubious distinction of having carried it into the grave"

14] Dr Magaisa:

"The arrogance with which Mwonzora & his allies carried themselves did little to endear them to the political market. Instead of eclipsing Chamisa as he hoped, Mwonzora became the archetypal villain the sordid political drama."

15] Dr Magaisa:

"There was a mistaken view that only 2023 election mattered & by-elections were a sideshow...others rightly observed tt further delays wouldn't only frustrate supporters but also cause confusion.Far from being a sideshow, by-elections are the begging of the show"

16] Dr Magaisa:

"Launch of CCC was overwhelmingly endorsed by the political market. By end of first day, CCC brand & colour yellow were trending on social media. What was more remarkable were numerous pictures of individuals who wouldn't normally declare political allegiances."
