UK waste incinerators disproportionately sited in most deprived areas unearthed.greenpeace.org/2020/07/31/was… via @UE
Please take the time to read this - it's really, important. RT🙏🏼- that'd be boss.
A planning application for a medical waste incinerator has been submitted to @LancashireCC . The location of the proposed incinerator is in Simonswood, West Lancashire.
Why should you be arsed? It's easy to turn a blind eye, isn't it? We all have busy lives, our own personal problems.
You should be arsed because this incinerator is going to pump out 3650 tonnes of hazardous waste a year. To be specific, residual emissions of polychlorinated dibenzo-dibenzo-dioxins as well as polychlorinated dibenzofurans (PCDF).
What do these fancily named things do? All the vile stuff you can imagine. Fuck up your nervous system, cause liver issues, cause skin lesions and not to mention the possibility of non-Hodgkins lymphoma - here's the full spiel here:
You should be arsed because this incinerator is going to pump out 3650 tonnes of hazardous waste a year. To be specific, residual emissions of polychlorinated dibenzo-dibenzo-dioxins as well as polychlorinated dibenzofurans (PCDF).
Dioxin exposures to humans are associated with increased risk of severe skin lesions such as chloracne and hyperpigmentation, altered liver function and lipid metabolism, general weakness associated with drastic weight loss, changes in activities of various liver enzymes,
depression of the immune system, and endocrine- and nervous-system abnormalities.
It is a potent teratogenic and fetotoxic chemical in animals. A very potent promoter in rat liver carcinogenesis, TCDD also causes cancers of the liver and other organs in animals.
Populations occupationally or accidentally exposed to chemicals contaminated with dioxin have increased incidences of soft-tissue sarcoma and non-Hodgkin's lymphoma.
Many of these nasty things have been detected within a radius of 10km of incinerator sites!
In a theoretical study drawn up, theoretical as this is the first site that they have ever proposed to build and therefore don't have a live site to use to compare and give real figures and risk assessment, they have determined that these emissions will fall 'below average'.
Sound! Build on, let's all breathe it in! NOT! The WHO, you know that organisation that is up for a Nobel peace prize, well they are completely against any form of burning medical waste and I don't know about you, but
but I couldn't give one shiny shite about any average - I don't want this burned in the air where my kids live, where I live, where any of us live!
Here's a pro, though - this site will bring 12 jobs to the area. WOOOOHOOOO! 12 JOBS! Get to the jobby kids, 12 jobs to fight over!
Not only will this pump this vile matter into the air, but it'll increase traffic in the area. I'm no expert but I imagine it's going to take a shit load of lorries to bring that waste to the area. Those lorries will clog up our roads and bring noise pollution.
Now the government have plans for 50 more of these incinerators across the country, so if you were thinking this isn’t about me…. WELL IT BLOODY WELL COULD BE SOON!
Support our campaign and let’s stick together to push for alternatives because they do exist!
If you’re concerned please sign the petition (link in comments below) It takes 2 minutes, you can even do it on the toilet as you have a wee (or whatever). Once you've signed, make sure that you confirm your signature via your email, or YOUR SIGNATURE WON'T COUNT.
This is so important, signing without confirming via email is about as much use as a chocolate teapot.

The fella who's submitted the application - he's a finance guy from Oxford University. Don't ever think that these people do this shit to help the local area or economy - it's for money in their pockets, not ours, at the cost of our health!
So yeah, please sign.
