This tweet by @KyleJamesHoward is a deliberate lie.

Kyle is discussing a conversation between @neilshenvi @R_Denhollander in which Neil said nothing racist. *Nothing*

Also, for what it's worth, Neil is not white he's brown.

But there's another game being played here...

In that converstion Neil says he focuses on bad models for accountibility/transparancy because often anyone who disagrees with a position gets called racist (pic 1).

What does @KyleJamesHoward do? *he calls neil a racist* (pic 2)

He does the very thing Neil was concerned about.

Also, @R_Denhollander says it's a caricature to distill the position to "if you disagree you're a racist." (Pic 1)

She says this *WHILE KYLE HOWARD CALLS NEIL RACIST FOR DISAGREEING*

Do we see the dynamic at play here? It a conversational version of good cop bad cop...

So @R_Denhollander will say "we aren't just calling those who disagree racist, we are making a nuanced argument about biases people aren't aware of"... and then @KyleJamesHoward just straight up calls @NeilShenvi a racist for disagreeing while providing no evidence of that...

This is the dynamic that is at work

FWIW I don't think @R_Denhollander is insincere in her concerns about abuse. I also don't think she is dishonest.

I do think there's a refusal to acknowledge that people like Kyle Howard do *exactly* what Neil Shenvi claims they do...

I mean @KyleJamesHoward liked @R_Denhollander's tweet that said they aren't just calling people racist...then he went and just called @NeilShenvi a racist.

Ths dishonetry is stunning.

It isn't just Kyle. @aimeebyrdPYW tweets about how "theology without love is dead" and then like tweets calling Neil racist for no reason.

We might ask if affirming and agreeing with unjustified accusations of racism is "loving."

Whether or not @R_Denhollander is right or not about accountibility and transparancey If she is her advice should be heeded

However, even if she is right, the dynamic that Neil was concerned about (which started the whole debate) is absolutely happening
