The chapter opens on a flashback to a younger, teenaged Nemu handing Samatoki a bracelet. A matching bracelet is on her wrist. These bracelets are charms Nemu received from her mother, and now she wants Samatoki to wear one. #hypspoiler
Back in the present day, Samatoki sits in his office smoking and looking at the bracelet still on his wrist. Just then, a knock on the door startles him out of his thoughts. According to one of Samatoki's henchmen, Riou is here to see him. #hypspoiler
Riou apologizes for dropping in so late in the evening, but he wanted to speak to Samatoki (and Juuto, but he couldn't get a hold of him) about an important, Chuuouku-related matter. Riou fills in Samatoki on the details of his investigation in the last chapter - #hypspoiler
- re: the Hypnosis Cancellers and reveals something huge: Chuuouku isn't developing or manufacturing Hypnosis Mics internally. Samatoki doesn't get why this is a big deal, so Riou breaks it down for him. The Party of Words' coup was successful - #hypspoiler
- because it had a monopoly on mics. Why would they then want to run the risk of outsourcing mic production? Considering their otherwise strict security, this doesn't make any sense.
Riou also found records that Chuuouku purchases them for enormous sums of money. #hypspoiler
Yet, oddly, the receipts all point to the fact that this money is going to one person, not a business. So who is this person? Unfortunately, Riou doesn't know. The people in Chuuouku don't want anyone to know, but MTC is as good as in the palm of this person's hand. #hypspoiler
Chuuouku is still a threat that should be defeated, but Riou thinks they should find this mystery person too because they might be pulling the strings and using Chuuouku to cause something to happen. Riou asks if Juuto and Samatoki will lend their help in this search. #hypspoiler
Samatoki's Riou's friend, so of course he'll help! Anyone who wouldn't is a piece of shit, and does Samatoki look like a PoS to Riou? Riou dodges the loaded question and thanks him.
Samatoki asks Riou's game plan. #hypspoiler
Riou says he'll try figuring out the mystery person's motive, and from there, maybe he'll be able to find a clue related to bringing down Chuuouku. Just then, Samatoki's phone rings. It's Juuto, and he tells Samatoki to get out NOW! #hypspoiler
Samatoki's henchman dashes in too. They're being raided by Chuuouku! Several party officers burst in and go straight to Samatoki. He tries to yell at them ("Who the hell let you in?" kind of thing) until a familiar voice tells him to be quiet. #hypspoiler
It's... Juuto? What's he doing with them? Riou stops Samatoki from snapping again, and Juuto is about to explain why he's with the party officer when yet another familiar voice appears and says that SHE will do the talking. It's... #hypspoiler
... the Vice Director-general of the Administrative Inspection Bureau, Nemu Aohitsugi herself. Samatoki looks utterly stunned and barely manages to croak out, "What... are you doing here?" He tries to take a step forward, but Party officers restrain him. #hypspoiler
Nemu likewise tells him to stop, saying she cannot tolerate his habit of immediately resorting to violence. Then she steps towards him on her own accord and holds up a paper before his face. It's an arrest warrant. Samatoki is under arrest for battery with a mic. #hypspoiler
