#KhargoneRiots

Dhan Mandi Masjid located in Sarafa Market was allegedly attacked by a mob coming out from Bhatwadi Mohalla -- dominated by majority on April 10 at 6:36 pm.

This happened an hour after @CollecterK clamped curfew here to prevent the further escalation of riot.

What followed is the incidents of vandalism and arson inside mosque.

When mob failed to barge inside the mosque's praying area, a video, shot after the incident, shows an image of Goddess Laxmi was installed on the chain gates of the mosque.

The visuals of Sarafa Market which went viral soon after the Dhan Mandi mosque was set on fire by the rioters.

From Sarafa Market, when I entered at Bhatwadi Mohalla on April 12, I also found a charred home of Vijay Laxmi Mahajan -- the only house which was set on fire in majority dominated colony.

It was empty when attacked.

While neighbouring houses only have marks of stone pelting.

Although, I'm in support that the peace should prevail in Khargone city which is under curfew since April 10. But the silance of district admin and vilification of particular community by a group of media forcing us to show the other side of the story. @DGP_MP

Jai Hind.

Here is the curfew orders issued by @CollecterK almost half an hour after the clash broke out.

It was enforced at 5:30 pm and the CCTV footages says that they attacked the religion place at 6:36 pm.

Almost half an hour after the curfew imposed, when reporters asked about the situation, a senior cop said that "everything is under control."

But in reality, the rioters were ravaging the city.

The distance between Talab Chowk and Sarafa Market is less than 1 km.
