This topic has my mind and I want to rift on it for a minute... π§΅
What I wrote in the tweet below strikes dead-center. You see this exact same engine deployed across so many fronts. In fact, it really is the core of progressivism because it's central to all critical theories.
The destructive mechanism (and that's what it is) being as follows...
Group X is disadvantaged in Area Y. Equity and justice demand we assist them/make them less disadvantaged. Ok, so far you can defend this as noble.
But here's where it perverts, every. single. time...
B/c life on Planet Earth will never be "fair" and there will ALWAYS be inequitable outcomes and certain people advantaged/others disadvantaged, this mindset should crash into a brick wall known as reality. And it does, but then leftists disconnect from reality and work around it.
The landing place of this thinking is always the same. The deranged solution becomes disrupting the "norm" for all people in order to make those disadvantaged less uncomfortable and/or to artificially manufacture equitable outcomes.
Nonsense that makes sense only on campus.
What it ends up looking like in application in reality is the intentional degradation of important norms and foundations and pillars which are wholesome and beneficial for society being eroded and destroyed in the quest to make things "fair"/even the playing field for all.
There is no example of this engine more paramount than western culture's current maniacal obsession with modeling and championing gender dysphoria to young children.
Literally disrupting the gender binary for all to coddle the feelings of a few.

But you see this exact same toxic mindset and corrosive application manifest all over.
Look at this quote from Alyssa Milano and the praise it received! This isn't something we want to advocate. Wtf! But to her twisted mind, it is.
Consider this π§΅... π
Look at this projection here. π
This is obviously a sad man with a broken and empty heart. One that's never known true love. His solution? Not to better himself... no no no, it's to bring the rest of society down to his level. π‘
Disgusting.
We see the exact same destructive engine here, dont we? ππ‘
In this case, the disconnect is so complete we have one of our largest magazines championing morbid obesity as "Healthy!"
Directly detrimental health advice to coddle the feelings of fat people
Returning to the OP and this completely insane campaign to erode breastfeeding...
It's the same dynamic. Two dogmas fuel this:
1) Some women can't, so we need to disrupt that state of norm for all to make them feel better
2) Breastfeeding means SAHM which is oppressive
Of course this thinking is sick as shit! Complete derangement. Destructive derangement. π‘
But it's not that far of a bridge from people like Jill Filipovic ranting about SAHM being oppression and detrimental to women, is it? No, it's not at all. These are peas of the same pod.
This is "the culture war", folks. It's moving now from the theoretical to the tangible...
Below is one of those threads I knew would ruffle feathers when I wrote it. But that doesn't make it any less accurate. Understand, these are feathers I seek to ruffle...
