#WarprizeJiSeason where instead of the yllz asking for a warprize, lwj is offered up as one and is open to anyone.
Lwj was captured by wz after the CR burned and kept as a warprize, confined to his room unless brought out for celebratory dinners and such.
When the Wens fall,
they find lwj locked up in his room. He thinks he can go home.
He cannot.
The cultivation world no longer trusts him. He was with the Wens for far too long. Who's to say he didn't become loyal to them?
The sects think of ideas. Imprisoning him or sending him to a labor camp
will only turn the Lan Clan against them. And marriage was out of the question.
Then they realize, they can offer him up as a warprize, and whoever wins can do with him as they please. That way the backlash won't fall on them.
Lwj is angry, as is his family, but they are
outnumbered. So, on the final day of celebration, there is a contest. Lwj is dressed up in the finest of silks and jewelry (courtesy of the Jins) and given Bichen.
The contest is simple: beat lwj in a sword fight and he would be yours.
Many entered the competition, all for
different reasons. Some wanted him for his beauty. Some wanted a punching bag to take their frustrations over the war out on. Some wanted...more sinister things.
Lwj refused to be given to any of them. He was rusty, but he was the greatest fighter of his generation. One by one
he defeated them all, pushing through his fatigue and fighting with all his might.
Just when he thought it was over and he would be given to no one, a man with dark robes approached him. Lwj heart leapt to his throat. He had heard of the yllz during his time with the Wens. He
never suspected him to be wwx.
He carried no sword, just a smile that wasn't quite as sunny. He stood in front of lwj and waited.
Lwj wasn't sure what to do. He didn't want to hurt him. But his freedom was on the line here. He lunged foward and wwx dodged him easily.
They continued on like this, lwj lunging, wwx dodging. It reminded him suddenly of the first time they met on the roof.
It wouldn't be so bad, lwj thought, if I were to be his prize. Despite everything, perhaps he will be kind.
Lwj lunged again, only this time wwx caught his
wrist ans maneuvered so his chest was to lwj back. Lwj stood frozen for a second, trying to move his arm, but it was no use. He was too tired.
"Let go," wwx whispered into his ear.
Lwj shivered and dropped his sword.
Shock and awe pass through the crowd. Jgs announced wwx
the winner of the warprize lwj.
(Need to get to work for a second. I think this is gonna be longer than I thought so wanted to get your take. Should I continue?)
(The one percent was not a fan, but for the rest I'll update! Also this will more than likely become a fic because of course it will ๐ )
Lwj follows wwx back to lotus pier. Wwx apparently doesn't have his sword, which is odd to lwj. Nonetheless, he flies them back to lotus pier.
The sect is still in ruin, with only part of it still standing, probably the rooms the Wens resided in when they had ownership. Wwx and
the Jiang siblings walk through the pier mournfully. Lwj follows behind, feeling like an outsider intruding on a private moment.
They arrive at the main hall. Jc glares at him.
"What will you do with him then?" Jc asks wwx.
Ah. So he would be seen as an object here as well.
"Lan Zhan will stay in my room for now"
Lwj heart fluttered, betraying him.
"He was with the Wens for months, Wei Wuxian. What makes you think he won't turn on us?"
"Lan Zhan would never do that," wwx said with conviction. "He's more righteous than all of us"
Oh. So maybe he
wouldn't be treated as such. At least not by wwx. He would appreciate it though if wwx would stop saying things that made him swoon like a maiden.
"Enough boys," jyl said. "It's been a tiring day. Let's get some sleep"
Lwj followed wwx through the pier. Wwx looked back at him
from time to time before slowing his pace.
"You don't have to walk behind me you know"
Lwj felt his ears heat. "Sorry. Habit"
Wwx gave him a soft look. "I'm sorry you went through that, Lan Zhan. I promise you won't be treated like that again"
Lwj hoped so.
They arrived
at a room towards the end of the pier.
"This was my room growing up" wwx said at they entered. "There's only one bed though, so we're going to have to share. I hope that's alright"
Lwj nodded. He stripped to his inner layer, wwx doing the same, before laying on the bed. He
looked at the wood, finding a carving of two people kissing.
(I can't remember if wwx room burned down or not, but let's pretend it didn't)
He traced the carving gently with his fingers. Is this what he wanted?
He felt wwx crawl into bed next to him, before he flicked out the
candles.
"Wei Ying"
"Ya?"
"Why did you fight for me?"
Wwx was silent for a minute. "They wouldn't be kind to you Lan Zhan. They all had an ulterior motive"
"And you don't?"
Wwx chuckled humorously. "I guess you could say I do"
"..what is it then?"
He prepared himself for
the worst. Perhaps he'd be asked to offer his body, or be used as a weapon, or be forced into servitude for the jiang sect. He was not prepared for what was said next.
"I want company, so I don't feel...lonely"
Lwj was confused. "You won't be alone, Wei Ying. You have your
siblings"
"Yes, but they'll expect me to be the same, but I'm not the same. The war...changed me, Lan Zhan, in ways I can't say. Besides, you never liked the old me, so maybe you'll be happy with who I am now. Anyways, let's get some sleep Lan Zhan. We'll talk more tomorrow"
Lwj laid in bed for a long while, contemplating wwx words. He listened as his breathing evened.
"Never disliked you, Wei Ying" he whispered to a sleeping audience.
He closed his eyes and tried to rest.
--
The following weeks were busy to say the least. Everyone was put to
work rebuilding what was destroyed. Lan Wangji split his time helping with rebuilding and getting acquainted with cultivation again after so long of not using his core. Anytime he wasn't doing that, he was spending time with wwx. They went on walks together through the town. Lwj
sat on the shore as wwx wade in the water. He tried every food wwx gave him and read him poetry as they lounged near the docks with tea at sunset.
Wwx still smiled and laughed, but it was not as bright or happy as it once was. Still, when he was with lwj, his smile got just a
bit wider.
His siblings took notice of this change though. Jc was often on his case, asking why he was slacking, why he wasn't using his sword, why he was spending so much time with lwj instead of them. This lead to many arguments which lwj and jyl has to mediate. Lwj would
follow wwx as he stormed out. He'd listen to his angry rant, nodding his head in acknowledgement until the man tired himself out. He then take him back to their room (theirs, as wwx had not attempted to find him another) and would have the man lay his head in his lap. He'd comb
his fingers through wwx hair and hum their tune. Wwx would relax into him, sometimes falling asleep, and lwj would feel content knowing that he made the man he loved feel safe. After a while, even if he and jc were not fighting, wwx began requesting this. Lwj was happy to give.
Wwx never forced him to do anything, always giving him a choice. He didn't treat lwj as a prize, but as something to be treasured, using whatever money he had to treat lwj to find silks and tasteful jewelry and the finest food Yunmeng had to offer. He'd compliment lwj, calling
him beautiful and cute and perfect. Lwj fell harder and harder with every word. It would have been easier, maybe, had they not come together in these circumstances. Maybe he'd be able to confess his feelings. Maybe he'd be able to make wwx understand that his feelings were
genuine, and that they weren't because of some stupid contest for him to be a war prize.
One night, after a particularly bad fight, wwx would not allow himself to he taken to their room. Instead, he went into town and stayed out for a long time. It was nightfall when he came
stumbling back in, a jar of alcohol in his hand.
Lwj was shocked. He'd never seen wwx so drunk.
"Wei Ying, what did you do?"
"I drank" he hiccuped, falling into the bed.
"How did you become drunk? Is your core not helping?"
"Nooooope"
"Why?"
"Because I don't have a
core"
Lwj stilled, his eyes widening, his heart sinking. He sat in horror as he listened to wwx tell his story.
"Lan Zhan, don't be sad" wwx murmured when he finished, burying his face into lwj stomach. "I'm ok. I'll be ok..." he trailed off as his eyes closed.
Lwj held him
tight and let a tear fall. No matter what, with every fiber of his being, he would not let this man hurt, not again. He'd protect his body and heart always.
Wwx begged him not to tell jc what happened. Lwj agreed, only because it was not his story to tell. They went to
breakfast and listened to jc grumble about wwx slacking off.
Jyl interrupted him. "The Jins are hosting a sect conference. They want us all to come"
(I need to end there all I'm sorry I'm so tired ๐ญ I'll do one or two more updates this weekend depending on how long they take to write)
From the top
They made their way to the conference a week later. Lwj was adorned in his finest robes: a mix of white and red silk. He wore the finest of jade around his wrists and dangling from his ears. Wwx had insisted on him dressing up.
"I wanna show them what they lost out on!" Wwx
said proudly. "Plus, wouldn't it feel nice to make them eat their words by showing them how you're thriving and being taken care of?"
Lwj had to admit, it was nice. He looked around the room as he strode in with the jiang delegation arm and arm with wwx. There was a mixture of
fury and jealousy being shot their way, and lwj preened. Wwx looked quite smug himself.
Once the pleasantries were out of the way, lxc rushed over to him. He hadn't seen him since the competition. His eyes stung. He missed his brother dearly.
They spend the rest of the
evening chatting. Lwj reassured his brother that he was being treated well, and wwx was nothing but kind. Wwx came to collected him as the evening wound down.
When they reached their room, wwx asked, "Lan Zhan, am I keeping you caged in lotus pier?"
Lwj huffed in annoyance.
"Wei Ying, do not forget my abilities as a cultivator just because I am a war prize. If I wanted to leave, I would have"
Wwx eyed him for a moment longer before he smiled smugly. "Our generations best cultivator, and yet I won against you"
"Did you ever think that I let you
win?"
Wwx jaw dropped open. Lwj turned to hide his smile, crawling on the bed and flicking out the candles. "Goodnight Wei Ying"
It took a few minutes for wwx to join him.
The following day was the night hunt. Were he still a part of his sect, lwj would be able to
participate. However the sects wouldn't allow it, so he sat next to jyl in the stands.
He watched as the cultivators from various clans made their way towards the targets. Wwx found him in the crowd and waved at him. He felt himself flush as jyl giggled.
He watched as each
cultivator took their shot. He stared in shock as the Wen prisoners were brought out and placed in front of the targets. He felt himself seethe. These people were not kind to him when he was held prisoner, but they did not deserved to be tortured like this. His fellow cultivators
did not share his sentiment though. He tried his hardest to control his emotions. It would not do well for anyone to be accused of being sympathetic to the Wens. He just secured his safety. He couldn't lose that.
He watched Jin Zixuan release an arrow. It flew over the heads of
the prisoners and hit dead center. His cousin challenged wwx to do better. Wwx unwrapped his wrist guard, covering his eyes, before knocking three arrows and releasing them. They all hit center.
When wwx uncovered his eyes, he looked to lwj and smirked.
Lwj felt heat pool in
the pit of his stomach. His face flamed and something between his legs began to stir. Once upon a time he would've thought wwx cockiness was infuriating. Now, it's intoxicating. This man was powerful, more powerful than most. And he swore to protect lwj. He sought out lwj. He
fought for lwj. The idea that he, a mere war prize as he's been reduced to, could capture the attention of the most powerful, dangerous cultivator was a heady thought.
He barely registered the start of the night hunt, lost in unholy thought. It wasn't until jyl roused him to
follow those participating in the hunt that he snapped out of it.
He walked with her for some time, hoping to run into wwx. He ran into jc first.
"Who knows where he's at" the brother grumbled. "He fucked off right as we entered. He's not even trying to help us win"
Lwj
sighed, not wanting to be a part of this argument, and left the siblings to go search for the third. He wandered around for a while, bichen by his side in case he ran into trouble, until he found the man in question resting in a tree, his wrist guard wrapped securely around his
eyes once more in what he assumed was an attempt to block out the sun.
Lwj stood there for a moment, pondering what to do next. He could call for him and the pair could walk together. But he felt a sort of courage knowing that wwx couldn't see him and what he was thinking of
doing. He was certain that wwx had some sort of romantic feelings towards him, but he wasn't completely sure. That fear kept him from sharing his feelings with the other man. But with his sight impared at the moment, perhaps he could show him without the other knowing.
He made
his way into the tree and wasted no time in completing his plan lest his chicken out. He crashed his lips onto the other man's, putting in years of passion into one single kiss. It was sloppy and wet and oh so hot. Wwx made a noise of surprise, but lwj did not let him go. He
attempted to take the cloth off his eyes, but lwj wouldn't let him, grabbing his wrists and pinning them to the tree. Wwx stopped resisting then, instead returning the kiss tenfold. Lwj let out and embarrassing whine. He felt hot and his pants began to feel too tight. Eventually
they had to part for air. Lwj was ready to make his escape when wwx stopped him.
"Lan Zhan" he said breathlessly.
Lwj froze. How did he know? Wwx freed his wrists and ripped the cloth off, his eyes blown wide, his pupils enlarged.
"Wei Ying" he replied stupidly.
"Lan Zhan
what was that for?"
Lwj kept silent, his face flushing.
"Lan Zhan, tell me why you kissed me. Tell me that it wasn't as thanks for saving you."
"I wouldn't do that to Wei Ying" lwj said heated. "I told you before that I let you win. Did you never question why?"
"Of course I
did, but I couldn't figure it out"
Lwj huffed. "For a genius you can be quite dense" wwx sputtered in protest but lwj ignored him. "Wei Ying, I chose you. I will always choose you. I love you"
Wwx face flushed. He swore his eyes began to water. "You...you love me?"
Lwj smiled
softly. "Since we were 15"
Wwx let out a disbelieving laugh. "But you hated me"
"Never hated Wei Ying. Just didn't know how to express what I was feeling"
"So you fought me instead?"
"Did you not fight to gain my affections as well?"
"Touchรฉ" wwx finally relaxed, taking lwj
face gently between his hands and peppering kisses all over it. "Lan Zhan, my sweet Lan Zhan, I love you too"
Lwj melted into his embrace, burying his face into the other man's chest. They stayed like that for a long while.
"Wei Ying, how did you know it was me?"
"I've slept
next to you for months now Lan Zhan, and in that time, I've come to know your smell quite well. Sandlewood. I've always liked it"
Lwj was glad his face was still buried so wwx couldn't see his blush.
Eventually, they climbed down from the tree. Wwx grabbed his hand and the
pair made their way out of the hunting area. On the way, wwx intervened on a conversation between jyl and jzx. They shuffled awkwardly as jzx yelled his confession.
"Gross. I didn't need to hear that" wwx said to lwj, wrapping an arm around his waste. "Why don't you go back
with jiejie. I'll meet you later"
"Where are you going?"
"Into town"
"What for?"
"It's a surprise~"
Lwj had no doubt the surprise was another expensive thing to spoil lwj. He didn't have the heart to stop wwx though, so he did as he was told.
He sat in the hall next to
jyl, sipping tea and talking to his brother. At one point, a drunken jz came up to him asking him to drink. The look he gave made him shiver. It was like he intended to eat him whole. He said nothing and did not touch the cup that was being held out to him. Jz began to grow
frustrated at his refusal.
"Come on, Lan Wangji, I'm sure wwx wouldn't mind sharing. Have a drink and relax with us~"
Before lwj could verbally refuse him, the cup was snatched out of his hand. Wwx downed it and said "I'll drink for him. And I very much do mind"
He looked
like he was ready to rip the man's head off. It was unbelievably hot.
Wwx began to ask about the Qishan Wen. He became more and more angry the longer jgs talked. After a terrifying threat that lwj had no doubt he'd follow through on, he was given their location. Wwx hurried out
of the hall like a man on a mission. Lwj ran after him, completely ignoring the rules instilled in him since he was a child for the man he loved. He knew what wwx was about to do and he wasn't going to let him do it alone.
"Wei Ying"
Wwx stopped and turned, his anger
tempering at the sight of him. "Lan Zhan, go back. I'll be back in a bit"
"Will you?"
Wwx didn't reply. Lwj knew he couldn't promise him that.
"I'm coming with you"
"No you're not. You-"
"Wei Ying, if you think I will let you order me around just because I was given to you
as a prize, you are sorely mistaken"
Wwx sighed. "You know that's not why"
"I know" lwj said softly. "But I need to know you're safe too"
Wwx groaned. "Gods you're stubborn"
"You knew this. If you didn't like this you shouldn't have fought for me"
"Who said I didn't like
it?"
Lwj had to remind himself that now was not the time to be horny. They made their way to wq and hurried towards where the rest of the Wens were being held. It took a lot of strength, but lwj was able to carry the three of them on his sword.
When they arrived, they found a
group of elderly, sick people chained and tired. Lwj gasped when he saw a child among them as well. Wq ran to her brother, who was laying on the earth, injured but still alive.
"We have to get him out of here so I can treat him properly" wq said.
"You're not going anywhere"
yelled a Jin cultivator. Wwx fought the guards off as lwj worked on freeing the Wens of their chains. When he finished, he looked back to see the guards occupied with fighting off the dead wwx called. Wwx grabbed some horses and the pair helped the group onto them.
"Go back
Lan Zhan" wwx said. "I can't let you follow me down this path. They'll never forgive you if you come with Mr. Go back home, be free and-"
Lwj grabbed his face and kissed him, silencing his stream of nonsense. "Wei Ying, where you go, I go"
Lwj couldn't tell if wwx was crying,
his tears getting mixed up in the rain water streaming down his face, but by the way he chocked he was almost positive he was. "You said you wanted me to keep you company" lwj continued "so let me"
"OK, Lan Zhan, ok. You win"
"I always win" lwj said with a smile.
"Guys we
have to move!" Wq yelled.
Lwj lifted himself onto the horse, wwx following soon after, sitting behind him, and the group rode off into the unknown.
(That's all for tonight. Wow this was a long update! I'm thinking one more to kind of wrap everything up. This will have a happy ending, so in case anyone was worried I want to assure you you won't be disappointed!)
From the top:
(Hi all! I had planned to update tonight but am just really exhausted and I want an update that'll actually be coherent and make sense ๐ so I plan on updating tomorrow afternoon! I'll be sure to make an update post so you can easily find it on my profile whenever you want. Thank
you all for your support and patience! I believe this will be the last update, but I'll be sure to let you know at the end)
(OK I'm back with the final update)
They rode for what felt like days, getting further and further from the Jins. Eventually, they arrived at the foot of the Burial Mounds.
"Here?" Lwj asked.
"It's the only place I could think of where we'd all be safe"
Lwj hesitated, but agreed in the end. My made camp for the
night. Wq managed to scavenge enough herbs and water from nearby to at least keep wn would from getting infected.
"I'll need more" she said after.
"What do you need?"
Lwj and wwx listened as wq shared what medical supplies she needed. They also discussed shelter and food
to help them survive in the long haul.
"I have some money on me, but it won't be enough"
"We will sell what I have" lwj said without thinking.
The pair stared wide eyed. "Lan gongzi-"
"The silks and jewels will get us triple what we have, and I have more in qainkun pouch"
He turned to wwx. "I know they were gifts, but these people need it more. Please allow me to do this"
Wwx smiled softly at him. "Aiya, Lan Zhan, how can I say no to you?"
The next day, lwj and wwx changed into their simplest clothes (wwx black robes and lwj baby blue).
Afterwards, lwj and wq went to Yiling to with their horses and goods to gather supplies. They bought medicine and medical tools, along with food, tea, seeds, and plenty of timber to build homes. By the time they were finished, they still had plenty of money to spare. They kept a
horse to haul all the supplies up the Burial Mounds where they found everyone huddled at the base.
"Where's Wei Ying?" Lwj asked.
"Ah, Wei furen, he has gone to calm the resentful spirits so we will not be distributed"
Lwj choked at the mention of Wei furen. "Wei furen?"
"Yes. Wei gongzi told us to call you that"
Lwj sighed and waited for the others for wwx return. He would talk to him then.
When wwx returned, he looked pale and exhausted. "Everything's good now. You can head on up"
Wq glared at him as the group passed. Lwj quickly rushed to
wwx sighed, sensing something was wrong.
"Wei Ying, are you alright?"
"Just tired Lan Zhan" lwj doubted that with the way wwx was heavily leaning against him. "Come on. I found a place for us to stay"
He helped wwx up the mountain to a mouth of a cave. "You want us to live in
a cave?"
"Hey! What's wrong with a cave?"
Many things, lwj thought. But he couldn't exactly be picky at the moment. He sat wwx down and rolled out their bedrolls, helping wwx to lie on it.
Just then, wq and a-yuan came, wn being carried on wq back.
"Is it alright if he
stays here? There's more room for me to treat him, and he's a bit more stable"
"Of course"
"Rich-gege!" A-yuan exclaimed, running to lwj whose arms automatically widened. Wwx fell into a fit of giggles at the nickname.
"Hello a-yuan. I have something for you?"
"You do?"
"Mn" he grabbed his pouch and pulled out a collection of animals carved in wood. A-yuan squealed in delight at the sight of them.
"Thank you rich-gege!" He exclaimed before claiming a corner to play.
Lwj turned to wwx as a hand grasped his waist.
"Those weren't on the list"
he joked.
"He's a child. He deserved to play"
Wwx melted, burying his face into lwj back, his arms wrapping around his waste. "Aiya, Lan Zhan, who told you to be so cute?"
"Can you two not?" Wq said.
"If you don't like it, you can leave! We claimed this spot" wwx replied.
"Fine. I'm done anyways. I'll take a-yuan with me. Please don't do anything to scar my brother"
"We wont" lwj assured, which was convincing enough for her to leave.
"Wei Ying" lwj said once she left.
"Yes dear?"
"Why did you tell everyone to call me Wei furen?"
"...do you
not like it?"
"It's not that I don't like it" lwj replied, ears flushed "I'm simply wondering why"
"Ah, it's just a silly little fantasy" wwx said, suddenly embarrassed.
Lwj undid his hair and laid onto the mat next to wwx facing him. "Tell me"
Wwx sighed. "It would be nice,
wouldn't it? To build our own sect. To oversee it together. To have a place to protect the Wens and train a-yuan to be a strong cultivator. Maybe we can find another younglings like him, give them a place to belong. I've never wanted to start my own sect before, but with you and
the Wens, maybe it wouldn't be so bad, especially if it meant keeping you all safe. But ah, who am I kidding? It's a silly daydream. It'll never happen"
"It's not silly," lwj said quickly. "I would like that too, Wei Ying"
"You would?"
"Everyone saw me as an object after the
war. You were the only one to see me as I truly am- a human, a cultivator. I would like the chance to be able to return to that life and teach the next generation as I would have were I not taken away from my sect in the first place. And I want that with you. So much"
Wwx
doesn't have a response to that, so he kisses lwj instead. Lwj sighed into it, feeling for the first time in a long time that he was home.
The weeks pass into months. The couple helped the Wens build cottages and furniture. They planted seeds and watched them grow into crops.
Wwx worked on creative protective talismans for their home. Lwj wrote books of helpful information that he had memorized from the cr library to begin making one of their own. Wn made a full recovery and wq created a small doctors office in case of emergency.
It's long and hard
work, but lwj loved every second of it. He basked in being called Wei furen. He loved walking through the markets side by side with wwx. He delighted in teaching A-yuan and waking up next to him and wwx.
Things were good. They were happy.
Then came a disturbance at their
boarder. Lwj and wwx went to check it out, each carrying their weapon. They dropped it upon seeing lxc and jc.
"Brother" lwj whispered in surprised before running to him and giving him a hug. He didn't care how many rules he was breaking. It had been far too long since he'd
seen his brother, and longer still since he'd set foot in the cr. He'd changed much in that time, with wwx making him more comfortable with openly displaying affection.
Lxc seemed surprised, but hugged him tightly nonetheless.
"What are you doing here?" Wwx asked, still in
defence mode despite it being their brothers.
"We're here to check on you, idiot. You disappeared without a trace. We've been looking for you for months"
"How did you find us?" Lwj asked.
Lxc gave him a confused look. "You wrote to us"
Lwj and wwx looked at one another.
"I can assure you we didn't" wwx replied.
"Then who did?" Jc asked.
"I did" wq said from behind them. "Well, are you going to invite them in? We've got a lot to talk about"
They sat in lwj and wwx home (cave?) and listen to wq share her plan. She explained that she
realized some time ago that they couldn't keep hiding forever.
"The longer we hide, the more they are going to think we are up to something. They already distrust us for who we are. The best course of action would be to show them that we mean no harm"
"Showing us may not be
enough" lxc replied
"How come?"
"Jgs is going on about the weapon you used to win the war. He's saying that you're building an army and as long as you have it, you're a threat"
Lwj looked to wwx. Wwx sighed. "The Yin Tiger Seal. I used it during the war. It allows the holder
to control any fierce corpse nearby. But it belongs to no one, so anyone can yield it" wwx explained. "I kept it because I don't trust jgs, not because I want it. If anything I'd rather it be destroyed, but I don't know how. So I'm holding onto it until then"
The group fell
silent. "So, what do we do now?" Jc asked.
"Have the sects come" lwj said, an idea coming to him.
"Wangji, I told you-"
"Have the sects come for a wedding" lwj interrupted, looking at wwx. "Wwx can hand over the tiger seal to the Lan clan and work with them on finding a way
to destroy it. The cr have one of the most extensive libraries in the world, surely there must be something in there to help us destroy it"
"Lan Zhan, I don't think the library has much on demonic cultivation, other than don't practice it"
"You're smart, Wei Ying. I'm sure
you'll figure something out"
Wwx flushed.
"Handing over the seal may not be enough" jc said, ignoring his brothers crisis of love.
"I believe you're right. So, after the wedding, we'll announce the establishment of the Wei clan"
Everyone froze in surprise besides wwx.
"Why?" Wq asked.
"Establishing ourselves as a sect allows communication and supervision for the other sects without us being dictated by then. They'll know what we are doing, just as they will know what we are doing. It will make us more legitimate in their eyes and keep
everyone safe"
"Do you think that'll be enough to stop them?"
"Of course. With a disciple of Yunmeng Jiang and the second heir to the Gusu Lan, we already have the backing of two great sects. And without the tiger seal, we pose no real threat to the cultivation world.
Attacking us would only put a target on the sects back and lead to distrust almong their peers"
The group sat in completative silence.
"Lan Zhan, sweetheart, have I ever told you that you're a genius?" Wwx said with a beaming smile.
"This is the first I'm hearing of it"
Wwx squacked in protest as lwj smiled.
"This might actually work" lxc said, hope bleeding from his voice.
They made plans for jc to send the wedding invites as lxc was to make it clear that lwj was still an heir to the sect. The Wens got to work making things look presentable
for the incoming influx of people.
"I'm sorry"
"What for Lan Zhan?"
"For springing marriage on you. I never asked if that was something you wanted"
"Sweetheart, don't apologize. I'm thrilled you proposed!"
"...really?"
"Ya. Truthfully I'm more upset that you beat me too it
I had a pretty romantic proposal plan. You would've cried and everything"
"...you can still do it if you wish"
And so wwx did, in front of all the Wens. And lwj did in fact cry.
The wedding was held a few months later. Lxc and jc provided them with the finest of red robes,
and together the pair take their bows on the dirt of the sect they built together. When the ceremony finished, wwx announced that he would be working with the Lans to destroy the seal (they had in fact already found a way to do so, wanting to make sure there was no time for
another sect to attempt to steal it) and their intention to create a sect. There are some protests, and jgs turned purple in rage, but overall the reception was welcomed, especially when nmj threatened to burn any sect to the ground who dare harm the Wei Sect (he looks after his
didi. Lwj almost cried again).
After a lovely week of rolling around in bed together, lwj and wwx exit their cave to find Jiang and Lan disciples bringing supplies into the Burial Mounds.
"Your dowry" lxc explained with a smile.
"If you're gonna make a sect, you need it
to look good"
So, after many more months and many helping hands, the Wei Sect was built.
-- (time skip)
Lwj dismissed his class for the day, waving in response to the cheers of "goodbye Wei furen!" He gathered his supplied and stepped out of the classroom where a-yuan was
waiting for him.
"Are you finished, a-die?" A-yuan asked.
"Yes. Let's go"
He allowed a-yuan to grab his hand and the two walked through the sect to his private rooms. A-yuan was now beginning his training to become a cultivator. Lwj looked over at the boy, his red and
black robes looking just a little too big on him. Lwj couldn't believe how much had changed.
They walked into lwj room to find wwx bent over his desk looking frustrated. His husband looked as beautiful as ever in his black and red silk roses with gold embroidery, his hair
loose, only partially held back by a red ribbon. He looked up as they walked into the room and beamed.
"Ah, is it dinner time already?"
The trio opt to eat in their room tonight to celebrate wwx birthday. Tomorrow there will be a large celebration with cultivators coming from
all over to celebrate wwx. But for today, it was just the three of them.
When they finish, they send a-yuan to his room next door and get ready for bed. Lwj takes off his robes, white silk with gold embroidery and a red underrobe, and pulls the red ribbon holding up his top
knot. He slips off the jade bracelet, the only thing he kept from the original gifts wwx gave to him ("you kept it?" "It was the first thing you bought me. It is top special and beautiful to get rid of"). He then slips into the robes he sleeps in and slipped into bed next to
wwx.
"Hello ai ren" wwx says with a large smile.
Lwj sighs but smiles. "Hello husband. Happy birthday"
Wwx pulls him close. "Happy indeed. I have my Wei furen, my son, my family, my sect...what could be better than this?"
Lwj nuzzles into the crook of wwx neck.
Yes, what indeed?

The end!
(As stated, this will one day be a fic where I'll fill in some more stuff and flush out some things and make it flow better. But I hope you all like what I've written so far!)
