#MiniCR with Starkvind and Arctic P14 fans.

A quiet 37.1 dBA at full power with an estimated CADR of 243. This CADR puts it in competition with a MERV13 Lasko box fan build, the noise level puts it over the top.

Oh and I put ✨LEDs✨ in it this time.

I experimented with fewer filters to see how the Arctic P14 fans did.

3 filters: cfm at 12V drops to 202.2. 21% drop from 4 filters.
2 filters: cfm at 12V drops to 146. 43% drop from 4 filters.

Some diagrams with dimensions showing the build.

Bill of materials:

4 Arctic P14 fans (5 pack $30)
4 Ikea Starkvind Filters ($60)
GDStime AC to 12V DC power adapter with speed control ($19 with a fan, can get a cheaper adapter with no speed control 1A ok for fans only)
DC 55 x 21 supply plug to 4x PC Fan power adapter ($10)

1+ sheet of 5mm thick 20"x30" foam board. (1 sheet is enough material to make everything except the last two struts).
Hot glue
16x 45mm M4 bolts
16x M4 nuts
16x M4 washers

Extras for LEDs:

1 to 2 way DC power splitter plug (to split power for the LEDs, $6.59 for 2)
16.4ft LED strip lights ($11.89)

Update about the Arctic P14 fans: my family informs me they sometimes make a “UHHHHHHHHHHH” sound

I haven’t experienced it yet, seems to be intermittent.
