The Airplate S9 SWITCHEROO ⤴️⤵️

The S9's stock finger protector creates a gap between the fan and the mounting plate. After taking it apart and swapping the protectors to eliminate that gap, CADR was retested.

196 cfm ➡️ 222 cfm

Using a Phillips screwdriver, unscrew the top. Next, peel the honeycomb protectors off (pic 1). They're stuck on with vibration reduction pads.

Flip the fan enclosure (pic 2), unscrew the bottom, and remove the standard protectors (pic 3).

#MiniCR with Starkvind and Arctic P14 fans.

A quiet 37.1 dBA at full power with an estimated CADR of 243. This CADR puts it in competition with a MERV13 Lasko box fan build, the noise level puts it over the top.

Oh and I put ✨LEDs✨ in it this time.

3 filters: cfm at 12V drops to 202.2. 21% drop from 4 filters.
2 filters: cfm at 12V drops to 146. 43% drop from 4 filters.
