The levels of irony in that last tweet are off the scale. This is someone going out of her way to ensure that a book is not seen or read and that an author is ruined. But all done under this facade of being 'kind'.

Had Vulliamy even read the text of My Body Is Me when she began her vicious campaign in December 2019 that effectively caused Rooney to leave publishing? I somehow doubt it. Or had Vulliamy read the book and felt terribly threatened by it, for some reason? I have no idea.

But anyone who reads My Body Is Me ought to be able to see that what Vulliamy did was entirely unmerited and appalling. People need to see it for what it was. It was a vicious, bullying, unwarranted attack on a lovely little book. Vulliamy ought to be ashamed.

I hope this thread throws light on what actually happened because Rooney has come under attack again in the past week. I hope the thread shows Vulliamy & her co-conspirators within children's publishing for what she is and what they are. Watch this space.
