The explanation is simple: libertarian values can no longer exist in this period. Liberalism has given up the ghost and handed everything over to progressivism, aka left-wing authoritarianism

Paradoxically, the only possibility for future liberty is right-wing authoritarianism

Fascism never arose out of nowhere. It always emerged as a natural response to a brewing communist revolution within the state, often a monarchy

What we're seeing now is the same process, but within liberal democracy, as it attempts to transition to a new version of communism

If libertarianism is "just leave me alone I want to grill," but the logical political outcome of that stance has resulted in a totalitarian socio-corporate state where you are under constant control, it's fully logical to switch to a position where *some* liberties are preserved

Communism 1.0 was roundly defeated, that's why the leftist urge is now driving liberal democracy—the force that extinguished it—to enact Communism 2.0, one we have almost no antibodies against

The libertarian, finding himself grossly overwhelmed, scrambles to find a new position

The very reason everything feels so chaotic right now is that it *is*

This is an unprecedented ideological moment. Liberalism's logic has reached its phase transition moment and the people who *don't* want to live under 2.0—aka normal people—are having to improvise on the fly

If normal people don't want to live in this wokeness, the logical outcome of liberalism, that means some part of the liberal logic-chain was broken

To true believers in its logic, then, anyone who wants to figure out *where* the logic broke down is by definition a "fascist"

So, that's your simple explanation for the pipeline. Progressivism, the natural outcome of liberalism, has led to less liberty, not more.

If so, it would be irrational for libertarians to *not* become whatever progressives calls fascists.

You're still pro-reason—aren't you?
