The Penne-agram: The 9 Types As Pasta: 🍝 🤌🏽

(A thread no one asked for, but can be read in the time it takes to boil your water)

Type 1: Angel Hair.

Knows it’s place but very inflexible. Always early but wonders why the other shapes won’t get their shit together.

Type 2: Lasagne.

Comforting, blankets others, layered with warmth. The noodle you break out for ultimate hospitality.

Depends on stronger foods to help it stand out and bring out its beauty.

Type 3: Rotini.

Charming and of substance without being overbearing. Extremely versatile and gets along well with others. Fun but predictable. A pantry staple.

Might overexert itself into *too* many dishes.

Type 4: Campanelle.

No two are exactly alike. Mysterious and not basic. Never heard of it? It’s too good for you.

Sometimes wishes it was a pantry staple, but happy being reserved for special dishes.

Type 5: Manicotti.

Holds a LOT. Specific and reserved for certain dishes. Not a pantry staple but one that you get excited to use when called for. More inside than what appears.

Great on its own (stuffed) without being topped or mixed.

Type 6: Elbows.

Loyal to what it knows (like a good batch of mac + cheese) and cautious to try anything new without proper recipe reason.

Fears the unknown but links up to find a way.

Type 7: Farfelle (Bowties)

Ready to party, tidy but a little rough around the edges. Makes a great appetizer and is a good alternative shape to other classic options. Can’t commit to one type of dish.

Type 8. Orecchiette.

It doesn’t go with every dish, but when it goes, it GOES.

Acts as a shield to protect its flavorful companions but can be a bit intense in certain situations.

Type 9: Pastini.

Unproblematic and reliable, this noodle doesn’t take up any more space than it needs to. Support in numbers but it’s presence can easily be drowned out.

That concludes this issue of “What will Maria try to Type now?”

Stay tuned for more (if you like this series). 🤌🏽
