[THREAD] ✍️
In this thread, I'm gonna preview Chelsea summer transfer window, their targets and how they compare with current players, players leaving or with each other. Analyze them and visualize their stats.

The first problem Thomas Tuchel is going to face is how he manages to replace Rudiger, as a player who played most mins for him and as a character. Tuchel’s philosophy is based on ball retention and verticality into the opposition’s final third.
CB's create passing angles and must be comfortable on the ball in tight spaces, to attract the opposition’s press via recycling the ball. Some of linked players could replace him and emulate same stats. Here is how Gvardiol, Bastoni and Koulibaly compare with each other.
There is a certain Chelsea player, who could not only provide depth for that role, but also be good fit in this system. Here's Levi Colwill Championship stats for this season.
RCB is another position Chelsea should look to upgrade, as Azpilicueta seems to be leaving and Christensen is leaving to Barcelona. Jules Kounde is a player who has been linked to Chelsea for two summer windows in a row and it looks like he's about to be Boehly's first signing.
This is how Jules Kounde compares with Trevoh Chalobah.
Marcos Alonso told @OndaCero_es, that he would like a return to Spain. Barcelona are favorites to land Spanish wingback. Davide Raum and Borna Sosa, two left sided defenders from Bundesliga, are thought to be linked with Chelsea. This is how they compare with Alonso.
“Dujon Sterling, Levi Colwill, Billy Gilmour and Armando Broja are, as things stand, expected to get an opportunity in pre-season to state their cases to Tuchel”.
- Adam Newson
Dujon Sterling is someone, who can operate on both wings and also be backup at RCB. This is how he compares with Sergiño Dest, another player, who has been linked with Chelsea. He could provide depth at both flanks and won't be expensive signing.
Speaking of versatility, there's another player coming from successful loan, who could provide depth at different positions and roles. Here's how Ethan Ampadu's defensive stats compare with other Top 5 league midfielders (percentiles)
Now let's move to midfield and the first name that pops up every transfer window is ex-Chelsea academy player, Declan Rice. This is how his stats compare with top 5 league midfielders in percentiles.
The midfield is clearly a priority for Chelsea. Chelsea admire Kalvin Phillips but there's nothing advanced. It's Declan Rice over Phillips though. But could he be better fit for possession style team than Rice?
Reliable sources say that Chelea have explored Amadou Haidara previously and we know Ibrahim Sangare is long-term target for many PL clubs. This is how these two players compare with each other.
Premier League heavyweights Chelsea are reportedly weighing up a summer move for 25-year-old Brighton & Hove Albion midfielder Yves Bissouma. But stats say he's not the best midfielder at progressing the ball.
Now we're going to have a look at two midfielders, coming back from their polar opposite loans: Conor Gallagher and Billy Gilmour. Both these players have different profiles, as Billy could be a good back-up for Jorginho and Conor could rotate with Kovacic.
Gilmour was ranked as Norwich's third-best performer by SofaScore. He was also ranked second in the squad for accurate passes per90 and key passes per90, and first for accurate long balls. His pressure stats in the defensive third per90 is impressive for Norwich quality.
On this graphic we can see, that Conor has been amazing this season, when it comes to attacking. His npxG sets him at 95 percentile, has 0.25 non-penalty goals per 90 and 2.82 SCA/90. One of the best dribbler compared to other midfielders and his pressure stats are top notch.
But as we see on this chart, his passing stats are not the best, with him being one of the worst progressive passers in the league (1.96 per 90, 3 percentile), his pass completion % is 76.3 per 90 (14 percentile) and 13 percentile in passes attempted.
Now we review Chelsea's attacking targets.
Reliable sources claim that Chelsea is close to sign Ousmane Dembele for free. Would he solve creativity issues?
As we can see on this chart, Dembele tops percentile stats in xA, Assists, Progressive Carries and Dribbles Completed...
also is in top 10% in SCA, Passes Attempted and npxG+A.
This is how he compares with Chelsea's top players in this statistics per 90 (attackers only):
npxG - Timo Werner (0.58)
xA - Mason Mount (0.25)
Assists - Mason Mount (0.38)
SCA - Hakim Ziyech (4.37)
PA - Mason Mount (48.4)
Prog. Passes - Hakim Ziyech (5.05)
Prog. Carries - CHO (9.43)
Dribbles Completed - Ziyech (2.38)
Touches (Att Pen) - Timo Werner (8.11)
Prog. Passes Rec - Kai Havertz (10.5)
Gabriel Jesus is going to join a Premier League club this summer per @FabrizioRomano.
Man City are looking to offload some attackers this season with Gabriel Jesus and Raheem Sterling looking for an exit door, Chelsea could offer them starting spot. This is how they compare:
Reported target Christopher Nkunku (45 G/A this season) will sign a new contract and remain at RB Leipzig for another season, with exit clause around £50m valid from 2023. Nkunku could play in all attacking positions, profile Tuchel might be looking at.
Robert Lewandowski wants to leave FC Bayern and his desired goal is FC Barcelona. 2 top European clubs are apparently his plan B: Paris St. Germain and Chelsea FC. This is how his league stats for 21/22 season compare with Romelu Lukaku:
