#bkdk, a/b/o, angst

Izuku loves Katsuki so much that he agreed to carry a pup for the blonde and his beta wife.

He tried to convince himself that the impending hurt was worth it when Katsuki placed gentle kisses on his growing belly.

At least he'd have an image to remember.

In the months that led to their child's birth, Katsuki was nothing but attentive. Massaging his tired shoulders, always willingly running to the store in the middle of the night for his cravings, and even assisting the greenette when he needed to waddle himself to the bathroom.

One fateful morning, when Izuku was once again suffering a bout of morning sickness, Katsuki was immediately by his side. Placing soothing circles on his heaving back and whispering small praises of how strong and amazing he was.

"Little gremlin is already giving his mommy a

hard time, huh," Katsuki joked lightheartedly, unable to register the weight of his words.

He's right.

This was his child. His baby. And for once, Izuku began to waver in his enchantment for Kacchan. The pulsating being in his belly starting to garner more of that love day by

day.

Izuku thought about it. How he could easily disappear from the couple's lives. Raise the bundle of joy by himself and selfishly keep a reminder of his first and only love.

But Izuku, for the life of him, was raised too well. Couldn't possibly imagine getting a wink of

sleep all the while knowing that he had caused great pain to the person he held the dearest to his heart.

So he had to endure it. For the boy who shone the brightest. For those red ruby eyes that never once looked at him.

But a month into his due, Izuku was pitied by the

Gods. Maybe they've finally decided was enough was enough and gave him great news that had lightened his burdens a little.

He was having twins.

And so, for the remainder of the wait, he started to distance himself from Katsuki. Reasoning out was easy enough.

"I can't stand

the smell of a mated alpha."

This frustrated Katsuki to no end, but he had to respect that. For the baby's sake. For Izuku's sake.

But there was a limit to his patience.

"Why the fuck can't I?!" the alpha snarled, struggling against the two men that were keeping him from

entering the delivery room.

"That's my son in there!" he contested. He had to know if his baby was okay. He had to know if Izuku was okay.

"Mr. Midoriya said he didn't want to see you," came the doctor's curt reply. Those few words completely drained the fight from his body.

And, for some reason, he wasn't able to regain his energy.

Even when his wife came to console him. Even when the doctors and nurses had announced that it was a success. Even when, finally, there was a mini version of himself craddled and crying in his arms.

Still, hours after

the delivery, Izuku refused to see him. And he was only coaxed by his family to go home because their child was becoming increasingly agitated in the sterile and unwelcoming environment of the hospital.

And that was the last time he saw his childhood friend. Izuku was gone.

And for years, Katsuki wondered why he couldn't find a trace of Izuku anywhere in his son.

He hated himself for being desperate. If he squinted his eyes enough, would he see a dusting of freckles on those cherub cheeks? If he stares long enough, do those doe eyes have specks of

hopeful green and determined gold? If he grows old enough, will he also call Katsuki a silly little nickname that would eventually become difficult to hear?

Life went on like that. The blonde numbed by pain whenever he feels the emptiness while he was damn well surrounded

by the people he loved. They were the picture perfect family. All the blonde could have ever wished for five years ago.

But there has always been something missing since Izuku's comforting presence eluded him.

Maybe if he kept those adorning eyes trained on him. Maybe if he

took the time to understand why a strange feeling erupted in his stomach whenever the greenette smiled at his direction. Maybe if he wasn't such in denial that things could work out between them, then maybe he would be happy.

Maybe he wouldn't be stuck pretending to his family.

Somewhere deep in the woods, there lived an omega and his wonderful family of four. While there were no tough times due to the wealthy resources surrounding them, life wasn't always that easy.

The greenette recalls with a muted kind of hurt when he had stumbled on the

dewy grass all those years ago. All he had were the clothes on his back and the gurgling newborn in his arms that was yet to carry the same conscious burden regarding their situation.

But he'd like to keep it that way. Nothing gives him more joy than hearing the soft snores of

little Izumi while he had his baby girl swaddled to his back as he gathered pieces of wood and created small traps and contraptions to catch food to eat.

In the two years that they have stayed there, the pair had truly claimed the forest as their home. Finding joy in the simple

pleasures of having chirping birds greet them awake, getting excited when the tools they (mostly Izuku, though Izumi was there to cheer) created managed to capture their daily sustenance, and even creating a peaceful existence in a tiny hut under the scattered brilliance of the

distant stars.

Life couldn't be better, but it did.

The nights when Izuku cried about ruby red eyes and an abundance of what - ifs became far and few in between. And the time finally came when he was able to card his fingers through his daughter's flaxen hair without being

reminded of what could never be.

Then there came Touya. A ferocious Alpha who was chased into the woods by his father's guards. An admittedly bratty heir that wanted to escape the clutches of his father. The alpha had adamantly refused

the omega's help, but still stayed in the general vicinity of the tiny hut.

Unsurprisingly, the stubborn Todoriki doesn't know shit. And by the end of the day, his stomach was already making embarrassing sounds that were unfamiliar to him.

He didn't even have to wager his

Alphan pride as the little angel(?) of a child, maybe around the age of four, begrudgingly brought him a grilled fish on a leaf.

"Mama said to give this to you, Weird Mister," the young blonde said before virtually shoving the mouthwatering meal to his face. He hesitantly

reached out for the food, smiling a little when the little girl let out a "hmph" and walked away.

"Thank you, Tiny," he said while slowly taking the fish apart with his bare hands.

The girl quickly spun on her toes, baring her barely there alphan fangs before running to her

dam.

When he finally finished the meal, stomach sated. He immediately gathered firewood. Picked out an assortment of wild flowers, before reluctantly knocking on the make shift door.

A breathless "Hi" was the only thing he managed to say, when he finally got a closer look at

the greenette infront of him.

"Hi," was the short and sweet reply that changed his life forever.

END.

This came out of nowhere AHAHAHAH. That's it! I hope you all enjoyed. This was supposed to be a prompt only but it turned into this kinda lengthy thread.

Like I said, it wouldn't be written by me if Izuku didn't have a happy ending. I left a little easter egg in there so hehe.

Tell me what you think! The ending is implied, I wrote one sentence that gives you a hint of what happened after!

Thanks again for reading. Till next time 🤧💕
