I’ll be covering protests tonight and tomorrow in #Akron following the recent fatal police shooting of #JaylandWalker. Walker, a 25-year-old Black man, was shot at least 60 times, according to attorney Bobby DiCello who recently saw the body cam footage.

Protest outside the Justice Center has moved from the steps of the building to the doors and windows. Protestors are demanding justice after #Akron police shot #JaylandWalker more than 60 times. @beaconjournal

14 officers in front of the Justice Center. Only one visible name on a badge.

After putting up barricades, the officers have returned into their headquarters.

Protestors are saying their number one priority is to keep the Walker family, the children safe and demand Justice.

Orange barricades have popped up around downtown Akron. An officer tells me that he is just putting them on sidewalks.

NOW: Protestors are marching down S. High Street in downtown #Akron. @beaconjournal

Protest now turning left onto E. Exchange.

Now a left onto S. Broadway. Looks like march is headed back to Justice Center.

The protestors temporarily dispersed before joining again to march over the Exchange St. bridge.

(This may be my last video of the night. I had to go back to my car for some water.)

That’s it for me for tonight’s coverage. Follow @beaconjournal and my colleagues as we continue to report on this story. I will be back out tomorrow.

Scene earlier today where Jazzimine Beasley, mother-in-law of #JaylandWalker leads protestors. Minutes before, #Akron Police came out of the Justice Center instructing protestors to move away from the building and on to the sidewalk.

Story for today: as of 9:45 p.m., family remained on the sidewalk outside the Justice Center demanding justice for #JaylandWalker. The body cam footage is being released tomorrow. @beaconjournal

Correction, this is Jayland’s sister-in-law. Sorry for any confusion.

Moments after this #Akron police officer instructed protestors to move to the sidewalk, I noticed his name badge was no longer on him. I asked him whether he was instructed to remove his badge. @beaconjournal
