How much time will you spend in meetings in your work time?

- 20% to 40% says cultureamp.com
- It will be 4 years in a person's whole life

There is 4P Method to help you master your meetings.

✓Purpose
✓Product
✓Personal Benefit
✓Process

From their research, they found a few interesting percentages.
- Believes meeting are #1 waste of time (49%)
- Admits to deliberately missing meetings (96%)
- Daydreams in meetings (91%)
- Does other work (73%)
- Sleeps in meetings (39%)

The first ‘P’ is ‘Purpose’.
Why do we need the meeting?
For example, the purpose of this meeting is to update/explore/decide ...

Without a purpose statement, meeting may go to a very different direction, to cause confusion and frustration.

2nd 'P' Product, it is what the people will have at the end of meeting.
For example, we have 3 ideas of...💡, a decision of...🌳 or a list of next things⏭️ to be done.

Purpose is the focus area, while Product makes a progress bar in minds toward the final result.⛽️

3rd P is Personal Benefit

Personal benefit is the reason people feel motivated. For example, it could be `This will help us save time/make an impact...`🤗

Without an explicit personal benefit, it can be easy for participants become passive joiners🙁or even worse against meeting

The last P is "Process"

Process is how we struct the conversation,🧑‍🏫for example, we will spend first 15 minutes to think about what went not well, next 30 minutes to find solutions.

A sharing agenda is a better practice, research shows it improved meeting quality significantly
