The Japanese people have a culture to avoid 'meiwaku' which means trouble, nuisance. They don't like to trouble others, so are usually mindful of own actions that could affect others.

This can be observed almost everywhere and in everything they do.

Japan is very clean everywhere because they don't litter despite trash cans are hard to find. They don't wanna trouble others cleaning up.

They can queue very obediently to not be unfair to anyone, again avoid troubles for others.

And of course they'd bust their own trays.

It makes so much sense, and honestly doesn't look too hard to practice. It's very considerate to others, and makes it feel pleasant for everyone around.

Locally, the same spirit is felt when #kitajagakita

Didn't we achieve wonders to help many who were less fortunate than us?

So really, being mindful for the next users, make it simpler and quicker to clear the table, like, why is that so hard? Because we paid "service tax"? 🙄

Drop that ego and see the bigger picture on how it can benefit everyone immensely.

My first job after SPM was being a waiter. It was a humbling and interesting experience.

It's hard to be successful and even harder to sustain the business long term. So hats off to those in the F&B line.

If people can just help to not 'meiwaku', it'd be greatly appreciated.

Like, I haven't been to Ikea cafe for a long time, but remember there were gentle reminders to bust your own tray.

No, you all won't. I had to clear your trash for space to put my meal. Urgh.

So I don't take the excuse of "the premise did not ask to clear yourself" as valid.

Honestly, there's more than just busting trays where we can be more mindful with each other and make it pleasant.

Can we just at least get this right so it feels hope is alive that we can be better citizens that truly love our foods and country? Pretty please?
