Singer Deku getting hate when he dates Rising Hero Dynamight after the younger male broke up with Red Riot.

They were the nation's couple so fans were unreasonably harsh on Izuku, even to the point of sending him death threats.

They accused him of being a homewrecker, called him a slut. Dragged his name through the mud when the most intimate thing he did with Katsuki was a kiss on the lips.

Katsuki fell in love with him too but Izuku couldn't handle the backlash. Everything he built had crumbled.

What's worse was that the issue was all in the past. Him and Katsuki never worked out. Being quirkless, Izuku couldn't live in fear and he didn't want to burden Kacchan either.

So, even if it broke him, he ended things with Katsuki. It didn't matter if he actually loved him

since they were kids. Didn't matter that he's been waiting all his life for them to fulfill the silly promise they made all those years ago to be happy together forever.

Didn't matter that Izuku broke time and time again when Katsuki dated left and right until he discovered

his preferences in his last relationship.

None of that mattered. If the public didn't know, if media outlets weren't privy to it, then he remains the villain.

It doesn't help that Kirishima has been tweeting cryptic messages like "You betrayed me" and "I knew you were talking

with that older boy, probably did something worse."

The redhead fed the fans' imaginations and they ate it all up.

Waking up to dead roses on his doorstep, record deals and sponsorships pulling out, and even some of his "friends" turning their backs on him devastated Izuku.

He felt alone and abandoned and for a while he disappeared from the spotlight.

At one point, the narrative changed. Showing how despite everything, he felt a false sense of security during the turbulent time in Katsuki's arms, giving a sad yet fond smile.

Then his face fell, expression twisting into one of utter hurt and blooming doubt. Remembering how Katsuki would promise the whole world to him in the confines of their room but would refuse to even

hold his hand in public in fear of judgement.

It left him scarred, disenchanting him from the concept of what love is.

Was it suppose to hurt like this?

The sting of feeling alone despite sweet
