Roger Stone’s incarceration was delayed until July 14, 2020. This allowed him to embark on a virtual media tour in late June during which he announced that he cld help reelect a flailing Trump if only Trump wld commute his sentence or grant him a pardon 1/ link.medium.com/nB41GMdy5rb

/ Trump accepted Roger Stone’s offer. He commuted Stone’s sentence on 7/10/20. Roger Stone protege Jack Posobiec announced the “good” news with a tweet. Stone celebrated with Enrique Tarrio and other members of the Proud Boys gang.

/ The following month, Stone dined with Ali Alexander, a convicted felon who had served as the frontman for Stone’s 2018 Stop the Steal campaign.

/ Other participants in that 2018 campaign had included Posobiec and several other close Stone associates: Laura Loomer, Jacob Engels, and future Proud Boys organizer Joe Biggs.

/ As in 2018, Alexander would serve as the frontman for the 2020 “Stop the Steal” effort, which was officially launched with a Labor Day tweet by Posobiec.

/ Labor Day happened to be the deadline that Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell had reportedly set for Trump to turn around his cratering poll numbers. Trump, however, had failed to turn them around. He was in deep trouble.

/ To be continued in Part 4 of my series investigating how Roger Stone and his network of miscreants have harmed the US by engaging in information warfare and normalizing right wing violence. I worked on Part 4 all day yesterday. Here is Part 1. link.medium.com/6JT9JKOz5rb

/ In the meantime, I highly, highly recommend that everyone read this WaPo piece. washingtonpost.com/investigations…

/ “On Nov. 5, as vote counts in key states slipped away from Trump, Stone coordinated a response during a rapid-fire succession of calls. *** Stone told one associate to create an account for hunting election fraud on an encrypted email service to avoid surveillance.”

/ “Dictating text messages, Stone told an aide to resurrect his Stop the Steal campaign. He predicted to another aide that his brand was about to be ‘quite a bit hotter’ as a result, adding, “We’re going to raise money from Stop the Steal — it will be like falling off a log.’”

/ “Stone directed aides to recruit retired military and law enforcement officials for Stop the Steal.”

/ That day, Stone “drew up a Stop the Steal action plan that was visible on a laptop in footage captured by the filmmakers. As protesters were mobilized, the plan said, state lawmakers wld be lobbied to reject official results.”

/ “Also that day [Nov 5], Stone had a 15-minute call with Flynn, the video shows.”

/ JC note: Flynn had previously pled guilty to perjury, but Flynn’s attorney, Sidney Powell, had persuaded him to try to retract his plea, and the matter was pending on appeal. politico.com/news/2020/01/2…

/ “During the Nov 5 call, Stone ‘told Flynn they cld ‘document an overwhelming…fraud’ in each battleground state & urged him to spread the word on social media. That day, Flynn, Trump’s campaign & his sons…began using #StopTheSteal on Twitter.” washingtonpost.com/investigations…

/ “Stone and Flynn discussed the need to coordinate with the White House…”

/ Note that Trump pardoned Flynn on 11/25/20.

/ Trump also pardoned Stone on 11/25/20, even though he had already commuted Stone’s sentence.

/ Roger Stone’s Stop the Steal partner, Ali Alexander.

/ In a livestream just before Christmas, Alexander said: “This is something Roger and I have been planning for a long time,” & “finally, he’s off the leash. So, you know, it’s a knife fight and your two knife fighters are Ali Alexander and Roger Stone…” link.medium.com/othKfZzL5rb

/ “What if we invade it?” - Stone’s good friend & “volunteer,” Proud Boys leader Enrique Tarrio.

/ Stone and Tarrio.

/ “‘The American militia movement over the last 20 years has had periods of relative silence, in which “groups stew over past grudges, & then there’s a flashpoint. If that anger boils over down the road, Stone will have had a hand in it.’” Daily Kos 2017 link.medium.com/bcVgu4BM5rb

/ In sum, Roger Stone has been dowsing America w/ kerosene & handing out matches for years. But he fled the scene & blamed others when the fire erupted on Jan 6.

/ Still workin’ on Part 4.

/ As far as I can tell, Roger Stone was the first person to have publicly suggested that Trump consider invoking the Insurrection Act, declaring martial law, & seizing election materials. He said it in Sep 2020. Others in his network suggested it later. mediamatters.org/roger-stone/ro…
