#VéloTrainEurope2022 suite!
Jour 21: repos
The day started w/ a bad surprise: the 8:59 IRE to Schaffhausen was not the usual accessible 2-level train but a 1-level train w/ high steps : how wise is it to plan such inadequate fleet on a busy vacation day @DBRegio_BW ?
@DBRegio_BW A stop in Schaffhausen gave a first taste of the excellent 🇨🇭 bike/train accessibility:
- ramps in all train stations,
- bike map of the city in the station,
- signs for the main bike routes
- most streets allowed to bikes
👏 @ECFEuroVelo @SchweizMobil @schaffhausench
Fortunately, the 12:00 IRE train from Schaffhausen to Basel was the 2-level, accessible fleet, with modular bike/wheelchair/seat configuration👍
These trains should run at all times of the day on this touristic Bodensee line @DBRegio_BW
✅Bonus point: the network map!
@DBRegio_BW Once in Basel, the cycling routes were a bit disappointing:
- patchy & w/ sometimes confusing signs
- often shared with cars or trams,
- dangerous for beginners because of the tram tracks everywhere... @VCSbeiderBasel @CriticalMassBS
