Design thinking 101 🎨

Understanding the needs and wants of users is crucial for creating better products.

- What is it and how does it work?

A thread 🧵

#uiuxdesign #designthinking

What is Design thinking?

- Design thinking is a process or framework for user-centric design & better design.
- Design Thinking is an ideology supported by an accompanying Process ( NN group)

- It allows designers to think outside of the box.

Rather than building a Fancy product & launch then fail; design thinking allows us to understand users' needs and their pain points and design an effective solution, then test it.

The design thinking follows a 5 step framework, mainly consisting of -

Step 1 - Empathise
Step 2- Define
Step 3- Ideate
Step 4- Prototyping
Step 5- Test

Step 1 - Empathize

In this step, first, we have to research and Collect users' data on - what is their needs, what is Their pain point, what is their goals, etc.

Step 2 - Define

After, empathize it's time to Combine all data that we collected, document the process, and identify where users' problems exist.

Step 3 - Ideate

after defining user needs, it's time to come up with new ideas, That can solve user problems and that are technically possible.

Step 4 - Prototype

after coming up with a lot of ideas it's time to design the product and understand what components we really need and which we can remove; whatever it is web or app, you can use - Pen and Paper, Figma, or Adobe XD. The prototype can be Lo-fi or Hi-fi.

Step 5 - Test

And, The 5th step is to test your Prototype with users & get feedback. Feedback allows us to understand what features we should add to our design and what to remove.

That’s all for Today (❁´◡`❁)
