V.K Rajwade tells us orgins of names shahji and Sharifji and the story of Shah-sharif is fake.
Shahji comes from simha(lion) and Sharifji comes from sharab. Simhak and sharbhak, these two names are found in Sanskrit literature.
Conclusion:
the names "shahji" and "Sharifji" were already existing in bhosale and nimbalkar family. The origins of their names were from simha and sharabh, no 'navas' of Pir shah-sharif was done by Malojiraje and his wife. The story of Shah-sharif's name given to shahji is fake.
