Do Hindu scriptures say that Surya is Supreme Hindu god?

Surya Sukta 1.50.1 is about passage of a wave of muscle tone from feet to top of head. We can have the same effect by looking at the afternoon Sun. Therefore, Surya Sukta is not actually about the Sun.

A popular Sukta as it is one in which a thought passes from Nirguna Brahman stage, through all 7 stages, across Saguna Brahman into an action. Its one reason why Surya is a candidate for supreme god. However, the knowledge about Surya in Rig Veda is too little.

Many Hindu gods are supposed to be supreme gods? Why is it so?

The Hindu sages of Rig Vedic period realized that for a thought to be converted into a reliable and efficient action it has to be processed in an unknown number of stages and in an unknown order.

Ideally, the idea has to be converted into an action from the first, or Indra stage or the stage of daydreaming. However, the idea stagnates in one or more of the stages. Therefore, it has to be ensured that the idea passes through all of the seven stages.

Thus, in Ashwa-Rig Veda 1.163, the idea is converted into action in Yama stage or the stage of compulsion.

Rudra too symbolizes the final stage at which the idea is converted into an action.

Where does Brahman, the Supreme Hindu god stand here?
Brahman is the seven stage thinking mechanism that ensures that all thoughts and activities of our life are eternally compatible, even when the real world keeps changing.

Brahman is actually a 3D cursor in Purusha, which by moving in these 3 axes ensures that the thought/action is compatible with all other thoughts/activities of our life under all conditions.

That's why Brahman is the Supreme Hindu.

While Surya was one of the important gods of Rig Veda that ensured passage of the idea through all the seven stages it can’t be considered as the Hindu supreme god. The reference to Surya is allegorical.
