This is a recap of an article from The Atlantic regarding Trump's Zero Tolerance/Family Separation policy. I've included important excerpts here.
It should enrage you.
The article is 30,000 words and is attached at the end. It may have a paywall
This excerpt speaks for itself.
The children were ripped from. Their parents arms and crammed into "cages."
This was done by the Republican Party who insist they care about children
Some of the parents recall being taunted by agents who said, "Happy Mother's Day or were told their children. Would be put up for adoption..."
Zero Tolerance took up so much time, money and resources that they weren't able to go after felony criminals such as drug cartels, murderers, traffickers or sex offenders
Pro Publica published recordings which proved that the separations targeted children and placed them in inhumane conditions.
700 families have still not been officially reunited
The Trump officials wanted to blame the separations on the victims and lied about them being "rescued" from trafficking
Trump never disavowed family separation and wanted it to be reinstated.
At one point Trump said that they should all be rounded up.
"Who cares about the law!"
Sound familiar?
Stephen Miller was the grand architect behind Zero Tolerance and Family Separation. He believes it can be used in future (Republican) administrations.
Our DOJ #MerrickGarland is defending Zero Tolerance and the individuals responsible for it. They insist that the policy has "never really existed."
5,569 separated children as of January 20, 2021.
Stephen Miller said he was too busy to comment on this article because he is taking care of his own child.
