Satellite loop for the next 12 hours. Muifa continues to travel up the coast - and as a result continues to be fed by the warm sea waters. All though down-graded to a tropical storm it is a colossal one, and its main threat is through its rain.
And the 12 hours till now:
After two landfalls, Muifa has delivered well over 36 hours of torrential rains and massive waves along nearly 2000 KMs of Chinese coastline - and is about to make landfall for a third time in Dalian due west of North Korea.
The first image here shows the roughly 1200 km path taken by #Muifa over the last 36 hours.
Typhoon #INFA last year in July caused catastrophic damage on a similar path.
The second image shows the next super typhoon, Nanmadol, forecast tolandfall in Japan on September 18th.
