trans people who are planning face surgery: tell me which surgeon u got and I’ll tier them and give u reasons why
apologies to post op girls if I shit all over ur surgeon but someone’s gotta settle the score w these hacks. I’m sure they did good on u tho 😘
I’ve had work done by two surgeons.
One was Peter Raphael in Plano (chin/trach). My chin was bad before him so it was an improvement, but left me with a weak profile and a double chin. Left a lot in my trach. C tier. Avoid. Yellow is Raphael.
Next surgery below 1/
The white background is a combination of Jesus Baez (brow, nose, trach), Moises Guerrero (chin genioplasty), and Davenborn (BA)
Baez killed it w my nose which makes sense because that’s his specialty. Brow was decent BUT there were a few problems 2/
First, the procedure took several hours longer than it was supposed to. I think my forehead splintered during the shave and it required some reconstruction. Scary, but it came out ok.
However I lost fat above my right eye which I need a transfusion for. 3/
He offered to do the transfusion for free if I come back to him, but I think I’d rather go to someone whose specialty is eye symmetry like Mehryar Tahban.
Overall very happy with his work, but it’d be cool if I didn’t need this transfusion. S tier on nose, A tier on brow. 4/
My chin was done by Moises Guerrero. It was definitely an improvement on Raphael’s work which left me with a recessed chin and weak profile. But somethings up with the right side of my chin, which has a kind of bulge which isn’t present on my left side.
B tier 5/
My BA was done by a couple called Davenborn. They gave me 240 cc motiva Ergonomix implants under muscle and a fat transfusion from my thighs and abs to cleavage.
I’m happy with the work but one of my friends was left very unhappy with their work, so B tier 6/
What I’ve learned the most is to not just go to a one stop shop. Try to get surgeons to only work in their specialties. Surgeons like Raphael who just do everything are often not highly skilled at anything. 7/
There are exceptions. Mardirossian, DB, and Keo seem to be able to do great on all parts of the face, but I couldn’t afford them.
Don’t be afraid to do ur FFS in parts. Go to a nose guy. Go to a chin guy. Go to a BA guy. Surgeons really excel when they specialize.
I’m seeing a lot of different names but two that more people need to see are Adam Weinfeld in Austin and Hector Malagon in Mexico City.
I’ve seen nothing but great work from both of em. Hector does better brows but weinfeld does better noses. I’d reccomend consulting w them
And I mean this btw. Surgeons have good and bad results and if you like your surgeons work that obviously means you had a good result.
The negative reviews are more important than the positive ones, and they’re what I pay the most attention to.
