DH/BAT+ chapter 1 released today in Japanese! Congratulations to Calamarium-sensei on the new manga!

After a brief recap of the series premise, the chapter begins with Sasara, Roshou, and Rei living their daily lives. Sasara is hosting a TV show involving stopping strangers on the side of the road and asking them their thoughts on Osaka. #hypspoiler

Roshou, meanwhile, is still teaching, and his stage fright is as bad as ever. But he’s happy to be back on a team with Sasara again. Rei is… well, Rei. Aka up to no good. He’s in the midst of coaching other con artists to set up scams. #hypspoiler

That night, as Roshou heads home from work, a creepy hand lands on his shoulder. Roshou freaks out and turns to see…! Oh, it’s only Sasara. Sasara invites himself over to Roshou’s apartment, and when he and Roshou arrive, it turns out Sasara’s invited Rei too. #hypspoiler

Much to Roshou’s confusion, Sasara pulls out his mic unprompted and raps at Rei for being old. [LOL] Rei then turns to Roshou and raps at him for being too naïve about certain people who mean him harm. Now Roshou’s angry AND confused. #hypspoiler

Rei says it’s his turn to go, and Sasara teases him, so Roshou loses his temper and raps at Sasara, saying Sasara plays up his wealth and prestige to make up for how bad his jokes are. [LMAO] Sasara is all for the roasting. #hypspoiler

He and Rei explain that this was a practice match to prepare for the next DRB. They made it be a surprise for Roshou since they didn’t think he’d give it his all otherwise. Roshou concedes that they’re probably right. #hypspoiler

DH decides to keep practicing and then go drinking together! Yay! Meanwhile, Kuukou’s back at the temple sweeping or… well, sitting around with a broom, to be precise. His father catches him and tells him off violently. #hypspoiler

Kuukou won’t stand for that treatment! He recalls that Juushi’s putting on a concert today, so he comes up with the brilliant idea to gate-crash Juushi’s after-concert time with his bandmates. The bouncers don’t think this is so brilliant, but what do they know? #hypspoiler

Meanwhile, Hitoya’s hard at work on another bullying case, this time involving a gang of college-aged bullies tormenting their clubmates. That is, he’s hard at work until Kuuko (with a whimpering Juushi in tow) barges through the door. #hypspoiler

Kuukou’s hellbent on making BAT go on another arduous training session. As Juushi begs him for mercy, Hitoya pulls the resident squabbling toddlers apart and attempts to shoo them out of his office. #hypspoiler

Just then, Hitoya receives more unexpected visitors, this time in the form of said bullies. They threaten Hitoya with illegal mics to make him purposefully lose the upcoming trial. Unfortunately for them, BAT has mics too. #hypspoiler

The Nagoya crew treat the bullies to a round of their signature style lyrics, and the bullies beat a hasty retreat, making a further mess of Hitoya’s formerly nice, clean office. Oh great. More work to do! #hypspoiler

And as if that wasn’t enough, Kuukou’s not satisfied with how their raps sounded. Dragging a heavily protesting pair of Hitoya and Juushi, he laughs and sets off for another group mountain training. #hypspoiler
