🆕🧵 Here’s my thread on #Notts 6-1 win over Wealdstone

A super performance, not as much to analyse here as we dominated and the footage is limited (credit goes to Notts for the footage)

@AaronNemane11 was on 🔥

This comes from a misplaced pass from Brinds (more on that later) but the intent from Ruben is so impressive. It’s early and he’s already looking to create scoring chances. The positioning from Macca is sublime, allowing him to receive it in a tight space. The finish is 👌

I’m going to ignore the pen as I feel the footage is inconclusive, but again this clip highlights the attacking intent of Ruben, playing yet another pass into a dangerous area. He not only has the vision to see these passes ahead of time, but the technique to execute them

First I must doff my cap to Tom Weal, once again he’s come up with a set piece which leads to a goal, his work this season has been brilliant. Even tho Chicksen gets into the space and has time the finish is still so impressive; hard and low, and he’s being closed down too

Notice the overlapping run of Ruben dragging Habergham out of position, opening just the slightest of gaps in the defence. The build up here is nice too; Brinds opens the play up, Nemane picks a nice pass too, and Palmer finishes well, the only area he could improve in imo

Allarakhia got a bit of joy down their left side, and tbh I think the suspension may be good for Brinds to have a rest. This ball in tho is pure class, hard to defend against, but really we should close him down quicker. Sam must take massive credit for this save; keeps us on top

Ruben kept dropping into these pockets of space, and here he decides to create from deep rather than look to drive. The great thing about having our attack is any ball into the box is always live, as shown here. Chicksen’s finishing was class; this strike you cannot save

This piece of play is probably the most direct and confident we have seen Aaron all season. He runs at the defence, and when he puts someone on the back foot he’s always going to win. He skips past men with ease and has the confidence to shoot which is great to see

Macca’s positioning is so underrated,you always see him spaced well in btween defenders, & this is 100% intentional. It allows him to receive the ball & his quick feet means he can do so in tight spaces. Really happy to see Chicks let fly with his right, smtimes he’s reluctant to

Probably my favourite of Ruben’s passes last night, perfectly weighted between two defenders and allows Nemane to not break stride. Aaron has really worked on his first time deliveries, a skill he seems to have mastered. It’s so tough to defend these crosses, as seen here

Their goal is disappointing from a concentration point of view. Obiero drifts in from the right, and both Cameron and Chicksen lose sight of him. We also fail to close down Allarakhia quickly enough, which we did earlier too and paid the price. Good finish tbf!

I said earlier we’d come back to Brindley’s passing, and here it was really sloppy. He seemed a little off it with the passing, and could have gone back to Sam here. The decision to pull him back is poor too; he’s come out and addressed it so he will definitely learn from it

Firstly great spot from Sam, superb show of vision. But this chance is all about Macca. The movement & positioning is first class; drifting into space, & showing that yard of pace he has. The touch and reading of the flight is sublime & the finish, on his weak foot, is so unlucky
