VIDEO THREAD: This afternoon, cannabis activists with @DCMJ2014 released smoke canisters, inflated a 51-foot joint, and smoked marijuana in front of the Russian Embassy in Washington DC to protest the 9-year sentence of American basketball player #BrittneyGriner in Russia.
"You got bud over there man?" a Secret Service agent asked @aeidinger, who explained that he weighed it, and it's indeed less than two ounces.
"It's a prop," he added.
"It smells like a prop!" the Secret Service officer joked.
The Secret Service officer was more concerned about an unspent smoke canister.
"Why are you sneaky about it?" he asked a protester.
"I'm not being sneaky about anything!" the activist said, picking it up. "This is what he's upset about, a legal smoke-emitting device."
"We need to stop the war on the people, and it begins with cannabis," said Libertarian @LPNational DC Ward 3 City Council candidate Adrian Salsgiver in front of the Russian Embassy.
He says people should be able to use cannabis "and not fear a crackdown by the government."
Activist @aeidinger put down the piece of a cannabis plant he brought to Russian Embassy.
Putin, he says, turned Griner into "a drug kingpin, over what? Not this."
"This is what this is about" he said, holding up a vape pen like the one #BrittneyGriner is in Russian prison for.
Here is my full @N2Sreports video summary of today's @DCMJ2014 action for #BrittneyGriner outside the Russian Embassy, led by @aeidinger.
