I am an expert on the Waterloo Moraine. This will plunge us into ecological crisis and disasters if this keeps up. @JustinTrudeau @cafreeland @fordnation @RishiSunak @commonwealthsec kitchener.ctvnews.ca/it-s-certainly…

I gathered these quotes when I used the Environmental Bill of Rights to call for a Waterloo Moraine Protection Act. The Places to Grow Act was was written before we knew about climate change and before modern geological data showed the risks we now face.

The Waterloo Moraine is an area that is geologically complex with outwash moraines similar to Arkell Research center in Guelph. Topography is not enough to prevent well contamination. We must understand this system to protect it. Predevelopment data is not enough to protect it.

Aggregate permits lack expiration dates and they risk ruining our groundwater. It is the aggregated that make up our groundwater supply and we are the largest community in Canada dependent on it. Know the carrying capacity of water for our city and grow within it.

I spent over 20 years educating people to protect the Waterloo Moraine. We stopped the Hallman Quarry pit that put 7% of our Region’s water supply at risk. Why rely on citizens to protect this? Why does Ontario have 13x’s more gravel permits issued than is physically needed?

British Envoy to Canada, Peter Hayward said the Commonwealth has been a break-even deal for England. Banking and Insurance in Canada and Australia is “the only thing that has kept the Commonwealth profitable for us”. My view: Ruin the Waterloo Moraine = massive insurance risks.

This is flooding in Waterloo Region before climate change.

Enbridge had single valves along major waterways and they limited the scope of Line 9’s EAs to the area of the pumping stations only. The pipe was exposed in the Rouge River. In the Grand River the only manual shut off valve was under water with spring thaw floods.

Development widens rivers and makes more storm runoff leading to more floods & drought after the water drains away in wider riverbeds. Growth disrupts water flow, water quality, water volumes and water quality. Enbridge lost 609 million fixing valves. financialpost.com/commodities/en…

If you grow Waterloo Region you have to revisit the design constraints of all bridges, flood plains of municipalities, infrastructure, intakes, sewers and oil pipes all along the tributaries. financialpost.com/commodities/en…

Canada's MNR is over dependent on topography without regard for quaternary geology, sediment types or modflow data. Clear cuts damages water quality, water flow, water volumes & flow rates to aquifers, wells & tributaries. Compaction damages recharge. Source protection needed.

Canada's Crown approvals have lacked so much regard for ecology and Treaty Rights you can see the ecocide and violation of Treaty Rights from space.

First Nations people have centuries of land management and know how to protect nature as the first photo shows but Canada encroached water recharge areas with development and gravel pits all throughout Waterloo Region. This is all built on Haldimand Treaty Land.

The Enviromental Commissioner of Ontario releases a report that identified 4 big water risks in Ontario: untreated sewage, farm runoff (especially phosphate) industrial wastes and roadsalts. Currently we lack policy to address these risks. Chemtura is still an issue.

We have a legacy spills in Elmira that is six times worse than the Love Canal for NDMA. We have issues of petrochemicals and North Star in Cambridge. We have cancer clusters that still need independent investigation. therecord.com/news/waterloo-…

We need to match water quality with use. Don't use fresh drinking water to flush toilets. Implement Purple pipes for water reuse and compost waste. Mandate low flow tools. Good report: City of Guelph’s Water Reuse and Demand Substitution Technologies Sept 25 2015.

A pipeline from Erie would flow uphill. The used water goes into the Grand River which loses heritage status to become sewage infrastructure and we would drink it again at the intake repeatedly and we know treatment can't remove all pharmaseudicals or toxins currently.

Polis Project The Soft Path for Water provides solutions that can offset a Lake Erie pipeline with conservation. Use it! poliswaterproject.org/polis-media-hi…

The British Empire had people like Sir John Armitt influencing KPMG in their 2015 insights report suggesting the binding of politicians to 30 year old schemes is good. This lacks regard to the current geopolitical & fiscal risks and it disregards climate change.

As Chancellor, Rishi Sunak wrote to Sir John Armitt of National Infrastructure Commission saying he MUST support net-zero carbon emissions in recommendations to support the government’s legal obligations. Why? Because previous decisions DID NOT COMPLY. constructionnews.co.uk/sustainability…

When making mistakes it is best to stop sooner than later. The Places to Grow Act and leaving the Waterloo Moraine out of the Greenbelt were massive mistakes but it is not to late to protect what we have. Please get the science right and cap growth within our water budget.

Here is how much Waterloo Region stands to lose if we don't think of the price of groundwater to pave over or dig gravel over primary recharge areas of the Waterloo Moraine. The losses are in perpetuity and doesn’t include use for farms, jobs, residents, manufacturing etc.

Biblically speaking, God demands out wash moraines to be protected as farmlands in Deuteronomy 11, vs 10-21. If not, you face floods, droughts & famine. It is old knowledge. It should be common sense that it is bad to ruin water supplies in perpetuity.

Engineering firms sign off on their work and are not held liable when reports are purchased by developers. The liability is on the purchaser if they act on it. If things go wrong engineers get away with it and can profit from remediation. Please use this to hold them accountable

Another loophole to close is buying shorts. This is when companies make money losing money. Carl Icahn did that and he was Trump's former advisor. Here is how it works.

With Short Selling they are investing in losses before they happen. Now extend that idea to the idea of creating disaster for profit scenerios. My view, that is a National Security risk. We need to stop deferred prosecution and end disaster/bankruptcy for profit scenarios.

We need to end deferred prosecution for companies participating in global destruction. We need CEO’s to be paid in cash not shares to stop corruption. We need disclosure of beneficiaries to stop money laundering and tax evasion. We need engineers held accountable.
